Abortion should be illegalized Abortion is one of the most controversial topics for centuries. In medical terms abortion means terminating the human pregnancy buy expulsion from the uterus before birth. Abortion is just another name of killing an unborn child who still has a life ahead. For several years a mother has to take the decision of killing her own unborn baby for many said and unsaid reasons. The unborn child is not even safe in the safest place of the world its mother’s womb. Although today in many countries abortion is legalized but according to me it should be illegalized. Killing any life born or unborn can never is legalized and justified. Every life is God’s gift and nobody has the right to put an end to it. Killing is sinful and is against God’s will. Abortion is forbidden in many Holy Books. Be it Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism or Judaism, every religion values life be it born or unborn. One of the earliest Christian writings, the Teaching of the Twelve Apostles states: "You shall not kill the child in the womb or murder a new-born infant." Both the Catholic and the Orthodox Churches forbid abortion as it is sinful and against morality. According to The Holy Bible abortion is against The Ten Commandments 'Thou shalt not kill'. It is believed that the child who is yet to born is alive and is God’s creation hence nobody has the right to destroy it. It is against God’s will. Islam also teaches the same that life begins at the very stage of conception and is created by Allah, the God. Islam like any other religion is a strongly pro-life religion and any such sinful act is strictly prohibited. Abortion should only be permitted under medical emergencies and critical issues. Any other reason apart from these never justifies abortion. It is just killing a life which is yet to born and flourish. Life is God’s creation and putting it to an end is a sinful act. Every religion preaches that life is the most precious gift of God and so is divine. Hence abortion is going against one’s own religion. It is wrong, unjustified and sinful. It also affects not only one but two lives simultaneously, the mother and its unborn child, which also has a right to live. Abortion also encourages feticides and affects the male, female ratio in many parts of the world. Therefore according to me it should never be legalized for any given reasons or ground. Congress has passed many laws restricting abortion rights, including in cases such as Webster vs. Reproductive Health Services and Stenberg v. Carhart (O’Brien par. 18). There are many other cases like these and each time is seems more likely that a woman’s right to choose could be overturned (“Reproductive Rights” 26). There are many different ranges of beliefs about the morality of abortion, whether or not one should have an abortion, and under what conditions the termination of pregnancy is acceptable. The argument supporting their beliefs typically starts with the premises that a fetus is a person, and to destroy or to kill a person is unethical. Therefore abortion, the premeditated destruction of a human being, is murder, and consequently unethical. I deny the fact that the fetus, what I will refer to as an embryo up to 22 weeks old, has the right to live. The opposing argument is invalid because a fetus, although perhaps a part of human species, is not formally a person. This leaves it simply to be a part of the woman?s body, whose fate lies solely in the hands of the pregnant woman alone, no different from a tumor she might have.
