Have you ever played the game of baseball? Because in baseball you need a lot of things. In baseball need a glove, bat, baseball, a field, and players. Baseball is a mental sport because, you need to predict where the the ball will go. If the guy is late on his swing he will go to right field, if he is a righty. If he is a lefty and is late on his swing he will go to left field.
Abner Doubleday was born on June 26, 1819 in Ballston spa, New York. He created baseball and was a Major General in the American Civil War. He created baseball in 1839, some people say he did create baseball others say he didn’t. Nobody really knows the answer to that question. Abner joined the Army in 1847 and went through two wars in his lifetime, the Mexican War and the Civil War, he fought for the north side of America. He retired from the Army in 1873 and moved to San Francisco, where he established the first cable car company in that city.
Baseball was originally invented because there was a lot of inactive children, and their parents wanted them to do something during the day. There has been some changes to the game. After slavery was abolished, blacks couldn’t play baseball with whites until 1947. They couldn’t play because whites didn’t want them too, So they made their own league called the Negro league. IN 1947 Jackie Robinson was called up to the Major leagues by Branch Rickey, and wanted Jackie to play for him. In the Major leagues there was no rule that blacks couldn’t play with whites, it’s just that they didn’t want them too. Jackie Robinson was a black baseball player and he broke the color barrier for blacks to play with whites. Jackie was a hero to everyone, he brought hope to the blacks so that they could play Major league
