A stronghold has long been considered a place of protection. Putting walls around a settlement gave the inhabitants a source of protection and control from their enemies. The better the defense, the more secure the inhabitants. The more sure the location, the more effective and powerful the force within. What would make a stronghold secure would depend on how strong it was built. Jehovah’s people have a stronghold in Jehovah that makes them feel protected and secure. Are you making Jehovah YOUR stronghold? Jehovah will be our stronghold if we make him such NOW! Opening your Bible to 2 Sam. 22 see if you do not agree with these words found in vs. 2,3 (Read)… Collectively Jehovah’s people view him as their stronghold, BUT do we as individuals? Just ahead we are facing a time of great trouble. A question we need to ask our self is will Jehovah be our stronghold during that time? God’s word has enabled us to foresee what soon lies ahead of us. Knowing what we are facing can help us to make Jehovah our stronghold NOW. Before the destruction of this system of things, we expect a cry of peace and security as 1 Thess. 5:3 says “Whenever it is that they are saying: “Peace and security!” then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them.” This will be followed by the great tribulation that begins with the devastation of false religion. True worshipers will survive only to be attacked by earthly forces of Satan, known as Gog of Magog. This will be the time when Jehovah steps in and destroys the rest of this wicked system in the battle known as Armageddon. That battle will clear the way for the reestablishment of Paradise on earth. We need to ask: ‘How will the future affect me?’ No one can assume that he will ... ... middle of paper ... ...en in Ps.18 when he said Jehovah was his stronghold and Provider of escape for him. Rather than taking refuge in our own might, we need to rely on Jehovah. Trusting in God as our stronghold involves knowing he will justly pay back persecutors and reward the persecuted. UNTIL that occurs, Jehovah is able to strengthen all who make him their stronghold. In our final scripture at Ps. 62: 7,8 the Psalmist urges us to trust in Jehovah. (Read)… Jehovah is able to satisfy our daily needs now and assures us of the prospect of eternal life in Paradise. He alone is able to guarantee eternal salvation for one who is faithful even to death. Like a stronghold with walls around it for protection let us make our defense secure by availing ourselves of the protection Jehovah provides. Make Jehovah your stronghold NOW, and you WILL be in a position to rejoice forever!
Australia has the terrible condition of having an essentially pointless and prefabricated idea of “Aussiness” that really has no relation to our real culture or the way in which we really see ourselves. We, however subscribe to these stereotypes when trying to find some expression of our Australian identity. The feature film, The Castle, deals with issues about Australian identity in the 1990’s. The film uses techniques like camera shots, language and the use of narration to develop conflict between a decent, old fashioned suburban family, the Kerrigans and an unscrupulous corporation called Airlink. Feature films like The Castle are cultural products because they use attitudes, values and stereotypes about what it means to be Australian.
One of the several groups that were victimized in the Holocaust were Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jehovah’s Witnesses “did not believe in the Nazi ideology and
Supporting people in having a voice and being heard is one of the five key principles of care practice in the K101 course. They link to the National Occupational Standards ‘Health and Social Care’. The principle states you need to show that you support and develop relationships with individuals so they can communicate and express views and preferences regarding their health and general needs without any fear of being ridiculed, rejected or retribution.
Psalms 9:9 “The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.” I chose this verse because I think that God sends people into others lives in order to help those in need. God used Amy Carmichael in the children’s lives as a shelter from the evil that was surrounding them. Amy Carmichael was the shelter for the children, but God is all of our refuges.

An instructive and stirring string of verses, this passage from the Bible holds great relevance not only for the Ancient Israelites to whom it was spoken, but also acts as a herald to Christians today. This passage forms part of Moses great oration; his instructive teaching, advice and counsel narrated to the second generation of Israelites who required redirection before moving forward into what God had for them. Similarly, it is also relevant for all Christians as we remember what our faithful, loving and powerful God has done in the past, and what he requires of us to move forward.
...s problems in the past. Many religions would have fallen and ceased to exist under this kind of persecution. To the Jewish believer this is perhaps because they are the ‘chosen people.’ This religion continues to prove its strength and resilience even today and will continue to do so.

Some passages in the Bible refer to the Kingdom of God as God 's reign. Other passages refer to God 's Kingdom as a realm to which we may be allowed to enter, and experience the blessings of His reign. The entrance to this realm depends on if we have lived the life that Jesus has planned for us. Still there are other passages that refer to a future realm, which will occur only with the reappearance of Jesus Christ. Therefore, these are three examples of the Kingdom of God that mean different things throughout other verses of the Bible. One only has to study all the references and interrupt its context to fully fit these pieces together to find the answers. The gospel of Luke sheds some insight into the Kingdom of
The redeemed Israelites exodus from Egypt, has brought them to Mont Siani, where they struggle with obedience. Jehovah teaches the chosen children of Israel His character of holiness, sovereignty, healer and provider, the who blesses and makes His children fruitful, as He is the keeper of the covenant and everything is brought under Him. God sets up His earthly throne with his people reveal Himself as holy, as in Leviticus 20:26, “You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own,” God also builds his people to be holy.
The Kingdom of God is a process that has not reached completion. The presence of the Kingdom of God exist on Earth, but it is still a future reality, because the day still has not arrived where the world is both praising and worshipping God, and Jesus Christ. Therefore, the presence of the Kingdom will remain hidden until God feels like the world is ready, but He has left us a companion in the Holy Spirit (Powell, 2008, pp. 193).
If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. (John 15:18-20)
