One Eventful Day Over the summer I went to Kings Island with my close friend, Elizabeth, and her family. We drove to Ohio and stayed in a hotel for three days. The drive was about three hours and let me tell you, three hours in a car with Elizabeth and her brothers is odd. We brought two totes of snacks and it was pretty much all gone by the time we got to the hotel. My friend and I slept most of the drive so we didn’t have much trouble. We got to the hotel early so our room wasn’t ready, the hotel was very nice though and offered to keep our bags behind the desk if we decided to leave while we waited. There were really nice couches and televisions in the lobby. Soft couches that were dark brown, I had said that I had wished I had those in my house. The floors were sleek and shiny, the counters were the same but they were marble. After sitting in the lobby for a little while, we left to go to a store called Jungle Jims. The store had food from different places around the world. The store sold tons of different sweets and breads. In the sweets section it smelled like candy and chocolate cake. In some places in the store it didn't smell as nice, but that's only my opinion. We spent almost an hour in the store looking for some kind of chocolate that my friend …show more content…
Our room had two big beds and a pullout couch. My friend and I slept in one bed, her parents slept in the other bed, and her brothers and their friend slept on the pullout couch. The bed was so comfortable I would have been fine just sleeping there the whole trip! The hotel had a pool that led from the inside to the outside deck as well, so we went down there and swam after getting situated. A bunch of people were down there with their kids, loud kids. We swam for awhile, then I got in the hot tub with some older women and my friend. The first night there, we ate Cracker Barrel for dinner because it was close to the
I’d never been in a house like this. It had rooms off of rooms, and in each of them were deep sofas and chairs, woven carpet over polished hard-wood floors, tasteful paintings on the walls. She asked if I was hungry, and she opened the fridge and it was stuffed with food-cold cuts and cheeses, fresh
When the lift doors opened at the sixth floor, a wave of dim light and buzzing voices greeted me. It was as if I'd taken the lift to a dark movie from the 70s. Facing me was the entrance to a supermarket selling all types of candy, weird foods, and random home items. Wondering what about the market attracted so many eyeballs and footfalls, I began walking around the floor, and then from floor to floor, observing the many stylistic and curious shops.
When we got out there we were all very impressed by the appearance of the city. This was obviously a tourist town. When we found the hotel we were impressed by the huge glass windows and cedar siding. It looked more like the Hilton than a Best Western. We checked in and were shown to our rooms. After bringing in all of our things, we went straight to bed knowing that we had a huge day ahead of us, not knowing how huge it was really going to be.
I have never waited so long in my life, it took and hour and a half just to get three bags out to where the pickup was. We finally got our bags and took a shuttle to the Crown Paradise Hotel. This Hotel was so nice. It had a mini golf course, three pools(1 inside,2 outside), A basketball court, a movie theatre, etc. My hotel room was also super nice there were too connecting rooms so finally for once I got my own bed. The first day I did the most common and went to the beach. The sand was super hot and I’m not too fond of salt water, it just makes swimming in the ocean ten times worse. Then at night I played ping pong and pool against my dad. Then the rest of the week I would go swim in the outside pool or play futsal(soccer on pavement). I always came back with at least one blister on my foot. The worst thing about this trip was the sunburn, in cancun it's way hotter and it's so easy too get burned. This also made it hard because, since the water is so bad whenever I wanted water I would have to walk all the way to the elevator and then all the way down this long hallway to the gift shop and would buy a water bottle then go all the way back to my room. The food although was super good besides there breakfast and ketchup. The last day was the hardest it took so long trying to get on the plane and the car ride was so boring. But that’s my favorite
The next day we had pancakes that the hotel gives for breakfast. That was the best food I have had since the vacation has started. My family and I went to the beach right after that. The water was still cold, so I had to play with the sand. Instead of building a sand castle, I built a set of tunnel and stuff underground. Then, my little brother came and jumped on the tunnels and all of it fell down.
When we arrived at the Best Western, everyone grabbed his/her suitcases, quickly tucking them into the rooms as the candy shop across the street drew us in like moths to a flame. Afterwards, we went back to our rooms, put on our bathing suits, and went for a late-night swim under the stars. It was so cold, but we did not mind it because we were having so much fun. Later we went back to our rooms and went to sleep. Our next day would surely be packed with action and adventure.
My unforgettable experience is when I went to Manzanillo, Colima. I went 6 moths ago with my boyfriend, and we will never forget it because it was very exciting and we were planning this trip for a long time. We only had 2 nights and 3 days in this beautiful beach but it was enough for us to make it perfect. We spent all the time together just having relaxation time and time for each other. We frequently go to beaches, but this trip was very special.
The big day, it was finally here. Two weeks of training on my own and putting in extra effort to sharpen my soccer skills, all for a two-hour evaluation. Sure I’ve been to soccer tryouts before, but I’ve never been to one where I’m so nervous that I could pass out. After a little pep talk from my dad, I was ready to go. I pulled my tryout jersey over my head and set off for the deep green pitch. As I approached the other girls that were already passing, juggling, or just talking with their friends, every single one of them turned their head to stare. Of course, there were other girls that didn’t belong to Sc Waukesha and were trying out, but nobody even glanced at them. Everyone's attention was on me, and I didn’t know why.
I usually wake up at around 7:00 am. My actual alarm time is at 6:30 am but I always snooze it. In the holidays, I wake up around 12 o’ clock. My friends say that I am the laziest person in the world. The first thing I hear from my mum is, “You are late”. I will then stream downstairs for breakfast. My parents always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So I try my level best not to miss it. My mum really loves cooking, so I can have different varieties of breakfast everyday. But my favourite breakfast is cereals. It will always put me in a good mood to be in school. When breakfast is finished, everything is a rollercoaster for everyone in the family including me. My parents are late for work, my brother is also late for college and I’m usually rushing for my bus. So there is no time to say goodbye to each other.
One life-changing event that has impacted my life was the decision to join my high school lacrosse team going into my freshman year. I didn't know too many people going into my first year of high school besides my close childhood friends. I had been playing soccer for most of my life and had been attending the high school soccer camp to prepare for tryouts. My friend called me a week before school started and asked me if I wanted to join him in at one of his practices. That call changed my life forever.
Six long hours after departing Hotchkiss, we finally reached our destination. We pulled into the parking lot of the Super 8 just off Interstate 76 in Sterling, Colorado. Since I had been to this hotel on a previous trip to Sterling, I began wishing I had brought my swimsuit along. Mom and dad went inside and got the keys for room 129. I was so sick of riding in the car that I did not care what the room looked like as long as there was a bed for me to sleep on. As we entered the room, on the left there was the bathroom sink, a mirror, and a place to hang our "good" clothes. To the right, was the miniature bathroom. There was not enough space in there for a midget. Stepping out of the entranceway, there was a wooden dresser with a 27-inch television. By the large window, there was a small table. Two queen size beds sat on either side of the nightstand. The purple patterned quilts were quite shocking compared to everything else in the room.
Everything for a year had been leading up to this point and here I was in the middle of the happiest place on earth in tears because my friends had abandoned me in the middle of Disney on the senior trip.
The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
It was close to four o’clock in the morning and we were tired. We met up with my dad at the airport and grab us a taxi. As we leave, we drive by a desert that was completely surrounded with sand. Passing through we made it into the city, looking at the flashing lights and buildings that stood tall. It was too early to go out and explore, we needed our rest. As we walk into our hotel, it was like walking into an expensive apartment. With its very own kitchen, washer and dryer, and a patio to top it all
Years ago I had the most terrifying, shocking day of my life. I had between seven or eight years when this happened. The day before the accident, all my family was at my grandfather’s house. We all were eating the food my mother and my aunts brought, telling jokes at the dinner table. Meanwhile, I was playing with my cousins in the backyard. Everyone was enjoying the family meeting. As the time passed by and everyone was about to go home, my mother suggested the idea that we all should go at my grandparent’s ranch next day, since everyone was in town we all could have the chance to go. Everyone liked the idea. It was the perfect time to go because it was a weekend. As they all agreed to go, they begun to decide who bring what to the gathering. Who would have thought that thanks to that suggestion, I would lead me to the hospital the day of the reunion.
