The year was 3156. You would imagine there was peace in the world. It was as we were in paradise. There was no suffering in the world and we were the most advanced civilization than any on another planet. That is what we all thought it was going to be like. We were wrong. 300 years ago, darkness had taken over the world. Evil spirits entered from the spirit world to the human world in order to take over everything. It was a catastrophic time, with half the world dead. All the people of the world were jailed in the underworld away from the light. Lilith did not want humanity to get back in power. He was now the king of both the spirit world and the material world. Everyone was terrified of him.
Everyone, except for Jeshickah and his band of rebels. They had somehow defeated the spirit army and sealed the portals. Once the era ended, the survivors spent 200 years rebuilding. The year was now 3156. All was thought to be well. Even I had thought that. I should have believed the others. They told me it was returning, but I did not believe them. They said, “Dr. Kaalea, temperatures are h...
...comes God and Adam, the perfect beings and creator which are all that the monster is not. They are human, pure and unadulterated, while he is a mash of parts from nowhere, his humanity was lost when his creator cast him aside when he was horrified with what had happened. Sound familiar? Unfortunately for the Demon his actions in these scenes draw a line closer to the Satan side of the story.
‘The Pedestrian’ was written by Ray Bradbury and was published in 1951. ‘The Murderer’ was also written by Bradbury in 1953. The 1950’s was a decade of the Korean war between North Korea and the Republic of South Korea. This then led to the Cold War, which created a politically conservative climate. It latest all decade, conformity and conservatism was the social issues at the time in the United States.
Years later, I have not been able to understand the meaningless deaths of god-faring people in Salem. The killing of godly men by other godly men is surely a black time. I feel as if Satan was present in the village at the time, but in all of us. Such terrible loss of godly life could only be Lucifer 's work. O, if only I had seen it earlier. I will take the guilt and helplessness with me to my grave, so God help me.
He has committed a horrific deed—murder—but unlike many monsters in gothic novels, he was not fueled by jealousy, greed, the need to possess someone or any other truly evil characteristic. He was driven to hate and revenge because he was abandoned and awfully treated. Unlike many monsters, the creature wanted to assimilate into society and find his purpose in life. He desired love, family, acceptance just like any human being would.
...ces and the reactions he chose to have. The book serves as a moral, if the monster had been given proper attention and guidance he could have been accepted and become ‘good’ but since society chose to outcast him and treat him cruelly, he mimicked those behaviors and likewise in turn treated humanity with cruelty. The development of the monster was extensive in the emotional, psychological and intellectual areas, the dualism of his personality gives him a double-identity which leaves us to question whether he truly became like Adam or Satan.
Even though he did not become a fallen because of his physical nature and being rejected by society, it was because he thought that he didn 't have as much freedom as he thought he deserves and wanted to force that freedom on others. He thought that he should be praised and honored, but his mistake was thinking a noble cause is, in fact, oppressive in nature. Even though I wouldn’t give any sympathy for what they have done, if I had to choose who I would give more sympathy towards, it would be the monster because even though he did terrible things at the end he shows sorrow. Satan does not show any remorse for his evil doings, he also had companions beside him and the monster didn 't have anyone to turn to in his times of
Prior to open practice of Satanism, the Roman Catholic church used Satanism as a label for individuals and groups who held views or ideologies that conflicted with those of the church. This was an attempt to delegitimize their opponents and to strengthen the Church’s following. While these accusations were initially harmless and limited to heretics, they became increasingly frequent and extreme. These wild accusations spread to rumors of violent rituals claimed to be performed by Satanists which built up to widespread fear and panic. Ultimately, this would result in events like the Salem Witch Trials where innocent people were put to death due to false suspicion of individuals performing witchcraft and becoming possessed by the Devil. Ironically, while the church merely intended to bolster both its image and following with these accusations, the widespread panic that resulted put Satanism on the map, and “several scholars identify fundamentalist Christianity as one of the major influences shaping and driving the” onset of the Satanist movement (Underwager and Wakefield, 281). This sheds light on the true relationship between the conflicting belief systems of Christianity and Satanism. Although the two are at odds on even the most basic levels, their relationship is largely codependent. Christianity uses the fear surrounding Satanism and the
It seems that any event out of the norm was considered the work of the devil and
In this futuristic film, Harrison Ford is a Bladerunner, a man who by using an eye scanning machine and asking questions can determine if a person is really human or is rather genetically created. In the meantime, three of these non-humans find out they only have a four year lifespan and try to find a way, through foul means more than fair, to extend their lives. This culminates in a rather disturbing fight between the leader of these non-humans and Harrison Ford’s character.
As we draw towards others and follow them and their way we lose our own way and part of ourselves in the process. The Queen of the Damned is Anne Rice’s third book in The Vampire Chronicles series. In the beginning it’s all about a group of present-day immortal vampires struggles to save the mortal humans from the first vampire Akasha. She devilishly plans to enslave mankind and destroy all men on earth in order to stop wars and promote peace. She decides to save one male Lestat and his friends and that’s when the nightmare really begins. Horror is a state of mind caused by the confrontation of living or dying. In Queen of the Damned horror is demonstrated in Akasha killings and vampire resurrections.
Thus Lilith, and other so-called "serpents" served an important purpose, that of keeping the Yang under control, and thus also serving a psychological purpose. When one rests too much in the light, one can develop a self-righteous attitude, and starts to think that they know everything. This was the true nature of the state Adam and Eve were in before the serpent in the garden, who was Lilith as we shall later see, were in....Adam and Eve had the false sense of security that they knew everything there was to know and carried within them the forces of creation (Yang). Lilith, on the other hand, who was the personification of Yin brought them down to earth when she got Eve to eat from the tree. Where Yang says "I know the right way, I know everything", Yin says "You don't know everything, you never will know everything, and there is no right way." Thus, Adam and Eve were brought down to earth, so to speak, when they partook of the fruit. The expulsion from paradise symbolized their acceptance of reality, and Yahweh's displeasure symbolized humankind's need to control and escape reality. As one can see, each character in the story of the fall are archtypical symbols for forces within the human psyche...
...he struggle for power between God and Lucifer reflects the religiously-based political struggles under the reign of Elizabeth I. The horrors of the struggle for a man’s soul in which the need for power outweigh the gifts of God’s grace reflect on the consequences of a secularized state in which religious devotion is largely reduced to a matter of political supremacy.
Although we are believe in our faith and resist to fall into traps, the story directly illustrates that the spirit is unable to completely protect us from evil. Evil is everywhere, meaning that everybody takes the risk of becoming its victim. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the truth of the human nature. Once we admit the blackness of the human nature, we are ready to learn how to drive this unexpected aspect in our
The day it all started, the turning point. We thought we were the master race, untouchable to whatever else lay wake on this planet. Our number one enemy, killer of millions was always in our shadow. We had been in a constant war against it since the dawn of time; it evolves rapidly and is a silent killer.
George headed back home to gather his things. He was digging through his desk drawers to find the money he had stashed years ago in case of an emergency. That’s when he found the leather-bound journal. He totally didn’t know who it belonged to how it got there so he decided to open it and saw his wife’s name written on the very first page. George immediately closed it and put the leather journal back because he didn't want to waste any time, then he noticed that a small note had fallen out of it. The note had the name “Lilith Simon”. George practically knew everyone in the village and he was certain that this Lilith person wasn’t from around here. He carefully turned the note around and saw a map drawn that lead to a small village about an hour away from the village that he was at and the note had the present day's date: May 27th, 1964.
