In our lives and in fiction, cause and effect are key points that show progress or regression. Overall, cause and effect brings change into the light overtime. In “A Christmas Carol: Scrooge and Marley,” Scrooge starts off with the traits of being stingy, insensitive, and bitter. But as the story continues, certain events cause him to change. Act I portrays Scrooge as being a cold, and bitter to man to others and even to those who are kin. The beginning of Scene 2 shows Scrooge’s nephew come to visit, his appearance starts an argument about Christmas between him and Scrooge.
