Cinderella and Harry have a lot in common in their stories. In both of their stories, they initially come off as weak. They were living with other family members who treat them as if they were unwanted and unloved. They were put after others in their family, when all they wanted was someone to love them. Often, they were treated more like the maids instead of family. Through their stories they begin to grow they have someone who “saves them.” Cinderella had her fairy godmother and Harry had Hagrid. They discovered things about themselves that they never knew or were able to see; that they had something special about themselves. They felt at first they could not be anything more than what they were, but soon noticed there was more to life than that. They were kind and even through everything that they had been through they still cared and wanted to help and care for others, sometimes putting those people before themselves. In Snow White there was “the magic mirror.” The evil queen would always ask the mirror; “magic mirror in my hand,who is the fairest in the land.” The mirror tells the queen that she is the one but thousands of miles away, there is someone else. That leads the Evil Queen to try to kill Snow White repeatedly. Snow White had to try to hide for her life. In Harry Potter, the Mirror of Erised is a mirror that shows the users their heart’s deepest desire. Looking at the mirror isn't always good, it gives people hope for the things what they want. Harry saw was his parents back with him. He wanted his parents back because he had lost them so young, and lost out on a true childhood, filled with memories of his family. This affected Harry because he had been hidden from the truth his entire life, and finally was able to feel love for the first time in his
