Johannes Brahms was born in May 7, 1833 in Germany. His father, Johann, was a bassist in the Hamburg Philharmonic Society, so he taught Brahms music at an early age. Brahms started to play piano at the age of seven. He then became a musician and used his talent to earn money to support his family and his future education.
In 1850, the violist Eduard Remenyi introduced Brahms gypsy dance songs that influenced Brahms’s compositions for piano in the next few years. They both had several successful concerts together in 1853.
In later 1853, Brahms met Robert Schumann, a German composer, and they seemed to be close friends. In a famous article, Schumann determined that Brahms was a genius and could be a great composer in the music world. Then, Brahms quickly became a well-known young composer. …show more content…

He became a conductor of the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna but still continued his work as a composer. Brahms spent the rest of his life in Vienna. Some of his compositions are Piano Trio No. 3 in C Minor, Violin Sonata in D Minor, and String Quintet in F Major. His compositions continued to grow in later years and had been sold well. He now had earned a lot of money and could do what he liked, but he often gave his money to his friends and other young musicians. At age sixty, Brahms’ production decreased, and he often destroyed his finished pieces if he felt unsatisfied about them. He gave up composing in 1890 but came back at it again.
