Introduction

Eye Tracker is a new technology that helps measuring eye positions and movements. This technology is commonly used for many different areas of research. It is a very helpful tool for the market study that helps to analyze customers’ behavior, experience and responses by analyzing their vision and defining most eye-catching places (Grundberg, 2012).

Tobii Technologies AB is the leading eye tracking technology developer. The company was founded by Henrik Eskilsson, John Elvesjö and Mårten Skogö in 2001. The founders’ main goal was to develop the most accurate and precise eye tracking technology that will work on all users under all conditions in an easy and automatic way (Tobii Technology, 2011).

Tobii Eye Tracker is a great technology, and it is still at the very beginning of the adoption curve. Tobii eye trackers are used in a wide range of eye tracking hardware and software applications. The application of that technology can bring a lot of efficiencies and improvements in many different areas. For today, this application is most commonly used in five following areas: market researching, communication and speech generation for people with special needs, diagnostic and assessment equipment, control interface and vehicle safety solutions (Tobii Technology, 2011).

Functions

Tobii eye-tracker works by sending out a pattern of infrared light which is reflected in a person’s eyes, whereby one can compute the position and the angle of the glance to determine exactly where the person is looking (Tobii Technology, 2011).
