A Hotel Security Conference 2007 was held in Singapore with the Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs of Singapore addressing the public, and highlighting the need to enhance building security especially hotels.

Ho (2007) has specially mentioned in this forum the usage and to incorporate CPTED considerations in future building or redevelopment plans, and as early as possible in all building design plan. He further mentioned that this approach will make security and criZXCxcsDDvcwvme prevention activity much more effective in the long term. However, based on the recent raised in incidents pertaining to hotels, just by using the CPTED, it might not be sufficient since the focus of CPTED is to target and prevent theft and theft related issues. As the ever-increasing amount of terrorists attacks taking place around the world, terrorist’s threats must be consider into the design for modern days hotels as well to ensure sufficient protection and safety for the hotels guests.

Suyder (n.d) might have correctly pointed out that, there is probably no one in this world that could accurately point out the exact date and actions of the first ever terrorists attack that ever taken place. However, Lehrman (2006) pointed out that the terrorist attack on the United States on September 2001 is probably one of the worse in the history of terrorists with such huge amount of casualties. This incident surely created much fear and awareness around the world and it is the wakeup call for people, organizations, and governments around the world that there is a serious need for better security not only to against the daily theft and unauthorized intrusions but also against terrorist attacks that could take place anywhere, any time that m...

...d be afraid to travel regardless for business or leisure purposes not to mention the unnecessary loss of human lives around the world. The public would continue to live in fear and it might cause the world to come into a standstill, as the volume travelling would drop dramatically.

If successful, Fini and Lakes (2003) suggested that such research studies could be used as references for further development of other security concept plans and designing methods to better protect hotels or even other landscapes of the future. To suit the ever-changing security landscape and to uphold the ever-important protection of lives, information and property as it is important that continual improvement is continuous on going through further research and development. This study could be the significant start of other further better security plans and protection concept.
