Macs and PCs are two big name computer brands. Often people are getting into frays over which is better. Aside from the fact that they are the subject of many arguments, they are very alike. They also have many differences between the two, such as lifespan, productivity, and cost effectiveness. First, Mac and PC differ and are alike because of lifespan. Lifespan is how long the device will live and function before it ultimately stops wrking for good. People want a longer lifespan as well as less viruses. When talking about viruses, Macs tend to have less viruses, mainly because they aren't as popular, so there aren't as many people to code the viruses (http://www.diffen.com). PCs on the other hand are much more popular, resulting in more viruses (http:/www.computerhope.com). PCs also are more likely to be targeted by Malware, as well. Malware is a trojan virus, yet much more deadly than a normal one. A trojan is a virus disguised as something harmless such as an advertisement. When you click on the ad, the virus tracks your computer and harms it. Sometimes it can also lo...
Macintosh at about the same price as a PC that has about the same things. This
All might think that a PC is awesome, but is not called Windows for nothing. When they say Windows they mean Windows. Macintosh has been known for it’s simplicity. Windows users say Mac has no games. I say to them there are games, but if you want to “play games” get a game system. Macs give a new vision in the computer industry.
Apple was definitely “thinking different” when it created the new addition to the Macintosh family, the iMac. It’s creative design and refreshing departure from the computer industry standard of boring beige boxes is gaining this marvel many optimistic reviews. This new personal computer, which is pronounced eye-Mac –the “i” stands for Internet, combines the computer and the monitor in one unit making it, in effect, an updated version of the original one-piece Macintosh. That makes the iMac ideal for people who want to conserve desk space.
Windows based computers are more practical, easier to use, and more versatile than Macintosh computers. There has always been much debate over which is the better system. There are people who are die-hard Macintosh users, and there are people who are the complete opposite, and naturally people sitting somewhere in between. The fact remains that the majority of home and business users own Windows based systems because of their versatility in all areas.
I decided to read the book by David Harley called Viruses Revealed. This book goes into great detail about the different kinds of viruses and virus mechanisms, the solutions to these viruses, studies on different cases of viruses and then the social aspects of viruses. In the first part of the book, Harley talks about the problems with viruses. A virus is a program that infects other programs to modify them. “Infecting means that a virus will insert itself into the chain of command” (Harley). The virus structure was defined into three different parts: Infection, Payload, and Trigger. The infection is defined as the way or ways in which the virus spreads. The payload is defined as what the virus does besides duplicating itself. Trigger is defined as the procedure that decides whether or not the payload is necessary. Harley also talks about the difference between damage versus infection. The major difference between the two is that many users have infected documents or applications on their computer. Whether or not those applications are run is the difference between the two. In part one Harley also converses about Trojan Horses. Trojan horses are normally known as a virus, but he shoots that down. Harley says that Trojan Horses are normally not viruses, but just a worm that goes from computer to computer. After talking about different kinds of viruses and worms, he goes into Anti-Virus softwares. There are two different kinds of anti-viruses. One being virus-specific. Virus-specific means that every time a virus is found on your computer, it is identified but not detected. Generic scanners do the opposite. Generic scanners detect viruses but do not identify them.
The similarities and the differences between Mac operating system (OS X) and Windows 10 operating system.
The first objective I would like to evaluate is the portability of MacBook Pros. The MacBook weighs less than 4 lbs, which makes it a very ideal laptop to carry around campus in a backpack. It is also very thin which is perfect to slide into your backpack without having to take anything out. Although the Pros sister computer, the MacBook Air is even lighter and thinner which is more ideal for a person who carries their Mac everywhere they go. I chose the Pro because it was looking for performance, which leads me to my next topic, speed.
Android does have a laptop in their product line made by Google called a Chromebook. A Chromebook is a cheaper product made by different companies but their software and processors. This products guarantees anti-virus service like no other, google drive available offline, and connectivity between android phone devices. IOS also has a well known laptop product called MacBook which offers the same services as google but more. iOS has their own office equipment which consists of pages, imovie, numbers, and keynotes. Also they have three different laptop types, which accommodates to different consumers want. Macbooks and Chromebooks are two completely different laptops that share same concept but in a different image. Macbooks have a slim and sleek look and holds a large amount data. Its processors are very unique
Let’s take a trip back in time and review the evolution of a computer company. It’s not IBM or Microsoft. This company is Apple Computers, Incorporated. In the year 1976, before most people even thought about buying a computer for their homes. Back then the computer community was only a few nerds building simple computers from hobby kits. When Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs sold a van and two programmable calculators for thirteen hundred dollars and started Apple Computers, Inc., in Jobs garage, the reach for success seemed far.
There are many different kinds of laptops on the market for this discussion we will compare the HP and the MacBook Pro. Both have good qualities about them. MacBook Pro stands out in three ways. One the design, two the operating system, and three the unique way the power cords was designed. Out of the two laptops HP has a higher market share because of the price and the gaming aspects. Gamers prefer the HP to the MacBook Pro because they have a better operating system for gaming. Both laptops have pros and cons.
Decades of operating system development and a collection of systems and features from many other systems combined with many unique ideas and implementations resulted in the development of Apple, Inc.'s OS X family. It is necessary to examine the older systems of OS X as well the progress of the system to understand the different technologies and how they interact. To secure and troubleshoot problems it is of great importance to understand the how and often the why of OS X technology.
Please, go out now and buy your Mac. As you could see, it’s very simple to make the switch, you won’t have the worry about getting viruses, it’s better for the planet to buy a Mac than to buy another PC, and if you really had to you could easily run the occasional Windows program. So for your benefit, I would get on apple.com and start the purchase right now, for your sake.
A virus is a piece of code that spreads through some user interaction(going to a shady website or downloading a file), usually written with evil intentions. A virus infects files that already exist on systems. They are not their standalone programs. It is designed to wreak havoc on a computer and spread itself from one file to another, then from computer to computer. (“What Are Viruses, Worms, and Trojan
The PC industry is highly competitive and constantly changing as technology evolves and customer needs change. Some of the top competitors in the PC industry are IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Dell and Apple. Theses rivals are constantly jockeying for the top competitor’s position. They compete in prices, product innovation, advertising, etc.
The invention of computers has made a huge change in human civilization and society, by changing the way people think. Computers replaced jobs and tedious repetitive thoughts that were done by human originally. People became more and more reliant on computers, and thus, computers became essential to our lives. Computers can manufacture products quickly, and eliminate possible human errors. As technology progresses, new ideas have been brought into computer to make them perform more efficiently. Also, scientists and engineers tend to make things “smaller”, so we can enjoy the benefits from electronic devices anywhere and anytime. Therefore, size and efficiency are two main points for consumers. Desktop computer and laptop computer are representatives for each of these concepts. Although desktops and laptops come from the same origin, they are different in many ways.
