There are many different kinds of laptops on the market for this discussion we will compare the HP and the MacBook Pro. Both have good qualities about them. MacBook Pro stands out in three ways. One the design, two the operating system, and three the unique way the power cords was designed. Out of the two laptops HP has a higher market share because of the price and the gaming aspects. Gamers prefer the HP to the MacBook Pro because they have a better operating system for gaming. Both laptops have pros and cons. The design of MacBook pro seems more stylish. It has a brushed aluminum body for rigidity. Flash memory, which saves on weight and helps with speed, the operation is extremely quiet. The start up is quite fast compared to any window based PC that I have operated. The unique magnetic design of the power cord makes it safer due to the fact that you can’t damage anything if you were to accidentally trip over the cord. The battery is larger and has a life of nine hours. In contrast by design the HP that I previously owned was boring black plain and plastic. The HP has a hard drive that makes it heavier and the startup process slower than the MacBook Pro. The HP’s power cord plugs in and if it were to be accidently tripped over or pulled out it could cause severe internal damage to the battery and not allowing the battery to charge. The HP’s battery is detachable so you can have an extra battery for backup. The MacBook Pro has an amazingly powerful operating system called OSX Mavericks. One of the wonderful aspects about the MacBook Pro’s operating system is that it does not come with any trial software to take up any memory or slow the system down. The HP came with a lot of trial software that caused a lot of pop up ads th... ... middle of paper ... ...l anti virus system known as Norton or you could use a different one because there are several anti virus software’s on the market some you pay for others are free and a lot of time free is not always better. Both of these laptops are capable machines with the potential to make a user’s job easier. It comes down to preference of what an individual would be looking for in a laptop computer. The HP using Windows has advantages in the areas of gaming and cost because of the low price of the individual laptop. The impact resistant yet stylish brushed aluminum look of the MacBook pro is a great appeal. Along with the secure OSX Mavericks operating system and other items that are forward thinking like the magnetic power cord make its higher price tag well worth the cost for many consumers. In either case one is sure to find the right laptop for their needs and wallet.
Do you know how Apple was created? Do you really or do you just think you do? Apple or Mac is the same company. It was created by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. Steve Jobs handled the marketing and Steve Wozniak managed the technical part. In 1976, Steve Wozniak showed Steve Jobs the product that was called Apple 1, it was a revolutionary product that Steve Wozniak only wanted to sell to the computer experts (programmers) and the government. But then Steve Jobs convinced Steve Wozniak to go and sell it to Intel. This is why today Apple is using intel. This was the birth of Apple computer. Then, when they created Apple 2, they made it a little bit more advanced and they doubled most of the specifications. Apple had a long history with multiple designs, there were different logos, different computer designs and even had Inspirations.
Computers have become more common products sold by many stores nowadays, instead of when they were first introduced as a specialty item. Computers continually change and progress further as we move further into the technological age. Currently when one goes to a retailer to buy a computer, there are many brands of computers being sold. However in reality, there are two different types of computers actually being sold. One type is a personal computer, or PC, that is typically used for personal home use. The other type is an Apple Macintosh, or MAC, which has become rather popular among students for college or school use. Computers reveal to be a rather interesting product one needs to research to better understand the different retailer
The Macintosh abbreviated as Mac, is the line of personal computers designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc. In the beginning was an economic and domestic alternative to Lisa, an advanced business microcomputer, whose line of development was absorbed by the Macintosh line. The Mac ended up becoming the standard line of development of Apple computers, with the disappearance of the evolutionary line of the Apple II. The Macintosh 128K, named for its 128 KiB of RAM, was launched on January 24, 1984. It was the first personal computer to be marketed successfully that used a graphical user interface (GUI) and a mouse instead of the command line. Its technical characteristics revolutionized the computer industry in the mid-1980s, maintaining its evolutionary line of development to this day. The range of Mac products currently varies from
Another area in which PC's have Macs clearly beat is in gaming. For some, gaming isn't very important; for this reason, many features of the PC are never truly realized. The vast majority of games have been designed for the PC. Mac systems do have a variety of games available, but there are far more made for PCs. The game play quality is also generally better in a PC than in a Mac. This is because there are many tweaking options available to PC owners that Mac owners just can't do with the same ease. With the PC, it is a simple matter to overclock the graphics card and other similar modifications, but with the Mac, you are plagued everywhere with passwords, and the Mac designers made it difficult to change such settings (Destinys-Child, 2000).
to reflect its shift to products that go beyond computers. With its string of successes and escalating stock price, its corporate image continues to rise. Next is positioning, Steve Jobs learned how to create effective branding platforms. Gone are the numbers and letters that caused confusion from the Apple II and III days. Instead there are the i-Platform products that are neatly designed in an attractive package to hook up with the Internet. They all begin with “i” and end with a single syllable word such as iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, iTunes, iBooks, and iCloud. For higher-end computers, Apple uses platform names such as the MacPro, MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacbookPro. For OSX operating systems, Apple has been using the names of ferocious cats. All products use what he call a combine strategy. They incorporate the Apple corporate brand and prominently display the Apple logo facing inward toward the user and outward to market them to the outside world. Each product has its own identity with little or no overlap between the models, thereby minimizing any cannibalization. Since products are unique to Apple, they give the company a huge positioning advantage. Besides that, products use the highest quality materials and industrial design with finishing details only found in finely crafted products even though they are mass-produced. The hardware and software
Remark that setting up hardware and installing software is much easier on a Mac. If your time has value, you'll be interested in knowing that configuring files and resolving problems with peripherals are virtually unknown on a Mac; they
Windows based computers are cheaper, and more easily upgradeable than Macintosh systems. The reason for this being that Apple has exclusive rights to the hardware made specifically for their computers. Windows based system hardware is produced by literally thousands of manufacturers. This, of course, means competition, which in turn lowers prices. Macintosh systems are sold (primarily) as a whole system, meaning that the consumer ends up with what Apple has decided should be included in the system. Windows systems, however, can be built to the consumers needs, or by the consumer themselves. They could select which component would be best for them for the price they would pay for it. Most importantly, with a Windows based system consumers could select what components they wish to have based on what they might pay for them.
limits the network access, in other words, it recognizes the internet accessibility level of the user. In addition, when a virus attacks the computer it directly downloads or deletes the appropriate information. On the other hand, Windows 10 has a different strategy to secure its system by isolating the applications that run on devices in a hardware-based virtual environment. Although, Windows security system has developed dramatically over time, Mac OS X is still less vulnerable to viruses and other malware.
It is a well-known fact that Microsoft is the most marketed operating system. This can be explained by the decision by Microsoft to design and sell its operating system to other computer manufacturers. This meant making it compatible with other hardware. Apple did not choose to do this, making its operating systems only compatible with its own computer hardware (Derene, 2009). In a website article called “HongKait.Com: Online Tips for Designers and Bloggers” Nina Krimly states statistics that identify Microsoft as controlling 91% of the market while Apple Mac around 5%. The exclusivity of Apple did not make it popular among those who used the computer to work on projects both at home and at work in the past ...
has a competitive advantage over their competitors. One of the methods that Apple uses to maintain a competitive advantage in international markets is tying their hardware and applications together with an integrated operating system. This means that one of their devices, such as the iPad works very much like the iPhone and many of the apps run one device just as they do on the other. The only difference would be the size of the product. Apples laptop is larger than the iPad which is larger than the iPhone. Otherwise these products share the same functionality and information through connectivity. They share functionality and information seamlessly through connectivity, constantly updating customer’s lives through simple plug-in. I think this is the number one reason why Apple has an edge over their
Android does have a laptop in their product line made by Google called a Chromebook. A Chromebook is a cheaper product made by different companies but their software and processors. This products guarantees anti-virus service like no other, google drive available offline, and connectivity between android phone devices. IOS also has a well known laptop product called MacBook which offers the same services as google but more. iOS has their own office equipment which consists of pages, imovie, numbers, and keynotes. Also they have three different laptop types, which accommodates to different consumers want. Macbooks and Chromebooks are two completely different laptops that share same concept but in a different image. Macbooks have a slim and sleek look and holds a large amount data. Its processors are very unique
Apple and Microsoft are one of the biggest computer systems known to man. Both are very different from each other that attract many people. Apple offers unique products and gadgets within the device. It comes with a variety of different things that have multiple positive items. Apple is clearly a better choice when it comes to electronic devices.
...ucial part in our everyday lives. Yes, students can choose a MacBook Pro or Air over a PC, even a Chrome Book, but for students looking for budget-friendly computers (trust me, there's thousands of them) I bet you that they will choose a Windows 8 or Windows 7 laptop.
Computers and technology makes it easier for entrepreneurs to enter this market. Not only are major tech companies competing against one another, but they are also competing against little programmers that know how to code. In our time you will never know with certainty when a small group of engineers or computer scientists are going to create, “next big thing”. Apple has been able to have a competitive advantage over its competitor by creating the highest quality products and services. Some of Apple’s current competitors are Microsoft, Google, and Facebook, and a few other tech companies as well. Most people strongly people Apple is one of the stronger company its industry, but then again some other people have biased views. Financially, they are the strongest company in the world. Also people are always willing to pay a premium for their products because of their durability, quality, and prior experiences with Apple products. Apple is always on the look at for new innovative ideas and concept that are being produced by self-motivated entrepreneurs. They are always looking to hire bright minds and let them develop within the company. A lot of entrepreneurs, programmers and engineers do not have a problem working for Apple because of their well-established perks. Apple offers its employees of the best benefits in the world. They also fairly compensate their employees that work in the front-end store as
For the people that desire a device that excels in specific criteria, whether that might be performance (computer gamers), portability, or price there are other devices meant for those purposes. Research has shown that most people would prefer a well-rounded device that can meet a variety of criteria with minimal compromise. The fact that the MacBook Air has met these criteria while still being compatible with other devices and programs is what makes it the best laptop. While it is unknown where technology is going, it is safe to say that Apple will continue to hold its place at the top. While other companies have tired to make a similar product, no one has made a true comparison to the MacBook Air.
