How much authority do cell phones really have on students? To some people, a whole school day without a phone is like living in jail. To others, it is like having a weight lifted off their shoulders. There is a question being asked worldwide. Should students be allowed to have cell phones throughout the school day? Teachers and administrators are struggling to choose the right answer. Students should not be allowed to use phones during school schedules. One important reason students should not be able to have cell phones out of school is that cheating can take place. During tests, students can be sneaky and take pictures of test information. Students can them forward the picture to their peers that have not been to that particular class. Some teachers and administrators may argue against this because students can just turn in all of their cellular devices to the adult in the room until after the quiz is finished. Fellow peers can use the power of their cell phones to bring others down. Many apps can cause bullying during school hours while on a school campus. Kids can take photographs of others during class. They then proceed to write very harmful comments on them and post for the world to see. To other students, this a complete nightmare. They can get really hurt by all of the negativity. The previous actions lead to bullied students not trying in school anymore and purposely trying to make bad grades. Snapchat is a huge app used for bullying in current times. It is an app where they can take pictures and post them on their "story." A story consists of people that a person adds. Other apps like Twitter and Instagram can cause the same thing.
