How much authority do cell phones really have on students? To some people, a whole school day without a phone is like living in jail. To others, it is like having a weight lifted off their shoulders. There is a question being asked worldwide. Should students be allowed to have cell phones throughout the school day? Teachers and administrators are struggling to choose the right answer. Students should not be allowed to use phones during school schedules. One important reason students should not be able to have cell phones out of school is that cheating can take place. During tests, students can be sneaky and take pictures of test information. Students can them forward the picture to their peers that have not been to that particular class. Some teachers and administrators may argue against this because students can just turn in all of their cellular devices to the adult in the room until after the quiz is finished. Fellow peers can use the power of their cell phones to bring others down. Many apps can cause bullying during school hours while on a school campus. Kids can take photographs of others during class. They then proceed to write very harmful comments on them and post for the world to see. To other students, this a complete nightmare. They can get really hurt by all of the negativity. The previous actions lead to bullied students not trying in school anymore and purposely trying to make bad grades. Snapchat is a huge app used for bullying in current times. It is an app where they can take pictures and post them on their "story." A story consists of people that a person adds. Other apps like Twitter and Instagram can cause the same thing. Many kids younger than the age of one have an iphone of some kind of social media device, which means they aren't getting a real childhood and playing outside with others and aren't learning as much from life.
I think that cell phones should be aloud in school during school hours. One of the reasons for that is because they actually have more benefits to the kids than most think. The second reason is the number of cells phones are reason and the use of them are more and more so why keep trying to fight it. There are two counter arguments but both of them are weak.
1 The right age to get a cellphone is when you get 17 or 18 in high school.Some parents buy their child phones such as iphones, samsung, tracphone,and ipad for to call them when ever needed. Kids shouldn't have phones at the age of 6-15, because some kids just call people and then they phone bill need payed. The problem is that when kids have the phone with them in the class and it go off the teacher will take it.Some kids bring they phone to call their momma or grandpa at least they having an emergcy.
Why should phones be allowed in classroom? Phones should be allowed in classroom because they help in a lot of ways. Also our phones are with us 24/7. We don’t just use it for texting people or calling or on social media. They should be allowed in class because they keep us quiet at times. We get to listen to music while doing our work. Have you ever heard of the gruesome Columbine High School massacre? This incident occurred on April 20th 1999 and involved two students embarking on a shooting rampage, killing twelve students, a teacher and wounding twenty three others. Unfortunately during this incident, the school's most easily accessible phone was on the other side of the school in the library. Perhaps some of these lives could have been saved if the students in this class had cell phones that they could've used to contact the authorities more quickly. The issue we are addressing today is the use of cellular devices in educational facilities. I believe that cell phone use is of extreme convenience, and has academically beneficial aspects, among it's so called "faults".
Today’s cell phone is the front line technology at our fingertips. Keeping this in mind the use of cell phones have become an affair when it comes to allowing teens to use them in educational environments, such as schools.
