Why We Should Have School Uniforms

While parents claim it takes away individuality, students should have uniforms because it improves professionalism, helps focus on education and decreases crime. One of the reasons students should have uniforms because it ameliorates professionalism and intensifies their reputation. Wearing school uniforms enhances school pride, unity, and community spirit ("School Uniforms "). Having school pride and unity creates a sense of professionalism to the outside world. A study in 2007 show uniforms is a major factor in developing pride towards their school in students ("School Uniforms "). Having school pride can help students be more competitive not only with students from their own school but also other schools. Uniform can also teach students to abide by policies and rules ("Top 10 Reasons School Uniforms Should Be Mandatory"). When a person gets a job, they need to follow the rules of their office. Uniforms have proven to improve the skills of rule following and abiding the polices in students. The skills they learn in school would be helpful to them to follow the rules and not lose their job and helping create a good image of themselves. Uniforms does a great job in creating a good image in front of teachers, as students are well perceived by teachers ("Top 10 Reasons School Uniforms Should Be Mandatory"). A study conducted in 2007 tells that the teacher felt the respect and trust level go up once uniforms were introduced("School Uniforms "). Teachers always say treat others the way you want to be treated. They apply the same concept to themselves, so as they feel the respect for them going up they would increase their respect for you too.
