Why shouldn’t cursive be in school? Most young children grow up hoping to learn to write the beautiful loops called cursive, but these days it’s getting used less and less; we need to get to the bottom of it. Cursive use to be used worldwide, but is being used less and less each year. Many of the children in modern day don’t know how to read or write cursive well, or rarely at all, but why?

The first answer that pops into your head is most likely the modern tech. A lot of people make the assumption that just because technology is so advanced that we don’t have to write anything anymore. The technology has developed and evolved so far, nobody has any need for writing, let alone cursive, because it is so efficient and quick.

It is really hard to read for some people. Have you seen doctors' handwriting? Almost IMPOSSIBLE to read. The easiest way is to just use electronics or just print out the handwriting. Cursive has been just another weird handwriting that we should move on with and put it in our history books.

Alternatively, it has been around for how long. It's like a tradition for the English. To get rid of it would be like changing our accents! It will always have people using it somehow, whether it's ten people in the entire world, or 10 million. It will always be supported by so many people. What if one day the whole wireless system collapses? We won't have computers, phones, or the internet. What are we going to do at school then? Sit there and do nothing? No. We will have to write by hand.

It's time to start something new. A brand new era full of electronics and computers. If that doesn’t make us sound like lazy couch potatoes, I don’t know what will. To be honest, technology has developed a lot. Once in a while you can do your work on a computer, but don’t forget to go outside a bit or practice your handwriting skills because someday, you might need it
