“Don’t cling to things because everything is impermanent,” Morrie Schwartz. In the book called Tuesdays with Morrie, written by Mitch Albom, a college professor, Morrie, and a former student, Mitch, have an unforgettable connection tested by the approaching death. Nevertheless, Morrie greatly inspired multiple people throughout the book, including Mitch. Tuesdays with Morrie is overall a heartwarming book that contains many life changing aspects. To think in a new perspective can change the view of anything in life. During a section of the book, Morrie states, “only once a person knows how to die that he can then know how to live” (Page 82). Morrie understands that death will soon take him away but he is prepared. He changes his perspective of death which creates a more positive view of death although many people view death as inevitable and evil. Throughout Morrie’s life, he taught many students as a college professor. Mitch happened to hear about Morrie on television after not visiting Morrie after twenty years so Mitch decided to pay a visit to Morrie. This became a recurring activity that usually happened on Tuesdays. Most Tuesdays. When Mitch went to visit, he would always take store bought deli food for Morrie and himself. Due to the situation Morrie was in, he developed a habit of leaving the food in the fridge to eat it later. He always accepted and was grateful of the food that Mitch brought, even when he was too tired and sick to eat it. Morrie was also thankful for the company that Mitch brought every Tuesday. One of Morrie’s most important quotes in the book says, “Love is how you stay alive, even after you are gone” (Page 133).
