William Shakespeare should be taught in the 9th grade because Shakespeare’s work is still relevant till this day. In this essay I will prove that Shakespeare is still relevant by using multiple arguments. I will be proving that Shakespeare tells the truth in his plays, that his audience can relate to his plays, and I will prove he is still relevant. I will be using multiple resources to backup my claim.
William Shakespeare should be taught in the in the 9th grade because his plays tell the truth. In the article On the Bard’s birthday, is Shakespeare still relevant it says “His plays tell the truth, boiled down to their essences”. What this quote means is that his plays do not change to make the theme family friendly his plays tell are relatable story that doesn’t need a specific change. This ties to the theme because he does not have to sugarcoat anything. In the same article it says “These are not plays we read and see together as a generation or country”. They’re works we enjoy as a species”. This quote is saying that Shakespeare’s plays do not show a happy ending but show how the world is.
