I believe that dhmo should been banned. The main reasons that it should be ban is because it causes cancer, some call Dihydrogen Monoxide the "Invisible Killer", Dihydrogen monoxide was found at every recent school shooting, Dihydrogen Monoxide is a major component of acid rain, Thousands die each year after inhaling dihydrogen monoxide
It should be ban because Dihydrogen Monoxide is not believed to be carcinogenic, although it is known to be a component of a number of cancer-causing agents. Additionally, the cause of approximately 20 percent of all cancers is not known, and there is reason to suspect that DHMO may play some role in these as well. Clearly, more research is needed before DHMO's role is fully enumerated. People don’t deserve
Others might say that E-cigs are just nothing but water vapor and can’t harm you. But, what they don’t know is that it’s more than just water vapor there is a lot of poisonous chemicals involving the liquid. Electronic cigarettes shouldn’t be outlawed because they are beneficial for regular cigarette smokers. Some people believe that e cigs are not
Dihydrogen Monoxide is a colorless, tasteless, and odorless chemical compound. It is found in many explosive and poisonous compounds consisting of Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine, and Ethyl Alcohol. This compound has many dangers such as death due to inhaling, even in small quantities, severes tissue damage and burns from exposure to solid and gaseous DHMO, and even car accidents due to brake failure. When an automobile is exposed to DHMO it can affect the condition of the brakes.
The harmful carcinogens in cigarettes cause about 480,000 deaths each year. These amounts of casualties seem to me as a serious problem, which needs to be addressed and reduced immediately. Cigarettes are known to have a variety of chemicals inside of them ranging from acetone to tar. The chemicals inside of cigarettes have been directly linked to cancer related effects. Due to the poisonous effects and numerous complications involved with cigarettes, they should be made illegal to sell and consume within the United States. Although there are thousands of reasons why cigarettes should be illegal, in this argumentative essay I will closely examine three. The effects of carcinogens, stress of addiction and death prevention are the three main reasons why cigarettes should be illegal.
From the perspective of a volunteer firefighter I feel that even though safety guidelines and personal protective equipment (PPE) are in place, exposure to carcinogens in the work place is too high especially in the fire service. Firefighters are public emergency workers with specialized training in firefighting and rescue. Firefighter’s primary job is to extinguish fires that are threatening property or civilians. However In recent years there has been an increase to the rescuer side. When a firefighter is on the job they face exposure to dust containing cement, fibreglass, asbestos, lead, and fumes containing hydrocarbons, and PCB’s which are all released from burning buildings. They are also exposed to toxic fumes, from using fuel in equipment and diesel fumes from apparatus. Firefighters are protected by wearing the proper PPE which includes a thermal protective jacket, pants, rubber boots balaclava, and self contained breathing apparatus and by the standards set out by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said the delay would give the agency time to determine how e-cigarettes fit into its overall tobacco regulatory strategy. I believe that this topic has a lot to do with our society today we have a lot of commercials trying to pull us away from cigarettes but we also have a lot of commercials promoting e-cigarettes and vapes at the same time.this is connectected to the government because every time something is coming out it has to get approved by the FDA which is part of the government in someway. There are many reasons why I believe that e-cigarettes are just as bad as cigarettes.in this article iot confirms that e-cigarettes nicotine is equal to an entire pack of conventional cigarettes also it says that some e-cigs with higher voltage levels can contain cancer-causing formaldehyde at levels up to fifteen times more than regular cigarette. Although they put a delay on e-cigarettes Schumer said postponing regulation on vaping is a mistake because more than 3 million middle and high school students said they had used e-cigarettes in the past month. In New York, 20 percent said they had
It was produced to be inhalable smoke, harming anyone who smokes them, making it a defect because in the past the tobacco was too harsh to be inhaled. The policy would help cigarette smokers, especially since they don’t even like the habit of smoking cigarettes, knowing it harms them. Banning vaping products from the public would cause many questions on why cigarettes aren’t banned in public. In addition, vapers would think cigarette companies paid the government to ban vaping outdoors, or banning products made after 2007 because they are losing money and business from vape products.
Dioxins are categorized as global pollutants that are found in the tissues of aquatic animals and in humans. Dioxins are formed fortuitously whenever chlorine organic chemicals are scorched, in the synthesis of the feedstocks Ethylene dichloride (EDC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), burning of vinyl products in unintended fires, incineration of vinyl products and the hazardous wastes from PVC production. (Thornton, 2002) Human infants receive particularly high doses, because dioxins cross the placenta easily and concentrate in breast milk. (Thornton, 2002). There is no known safe dose of dioxin. Dioxin causes impairment to reproduction development, the immune and the endocrine systems at very low doses. Dioxin is a potent carcinogen to animals and humans posing health risks to a population already high on doses. (Thornton,
The extremely lethal cigarettes America are allowing to be sold from all over the nation is preposterous. Why is America letting people cause so much harm to their selves and our environment? The laws over the years have changed drastically in the past decade. So cigarettes should be illegal because it causes cancer, harmful effects on the body, and hurts our eco system.
...ould be allowed to continue but only under heavy scrutiny from regulating bodies. With the proper measures put into place, it can make this a healthier and better world for everyone
Second Hand Smoke In the 1950's and 60's scientists gave the people a lot of evidence on the deadly effects of smoking where the tobacco companies on the other hand tried to put the doubt in people’s minds through the campaigns to show that it is not all true. By the time people actually decided to take care of their health and finally saw how life-threatening smoking could be by real life examples, the tobacco companies already got rich from its sales. Nowadays, nobody doubts that “firsthand” smoke is deadly to your health and it causes lung cancer and heart disease in adults and asthma and bronchitis in children. Now the industry is onto the secondhand smoke. Scientists and researchers are representing a lot of evidence and research that has been done throughout the years showing that the secondhand smoke can also cause a lung cancer in nonsmokers. The study has been done of people who have been long exposed to secondhand smoke and it shows that 26 out of 33 published studies indicate a link between secondhand smoke and lung cancer. The study estimates that the people that were breathing secondhand smoke were 8 to 150 percent more likely to get lung cancer. The tobacco companies are trying to argue the facts and are still in serious debate about the health hazards of breathing a secondhand smoke. A lot of anti-smoking organizations are trying to turn smoking in public into a private activity that does not have to involve nonsmokers breathing secondhand smoke. What is even more important is that many of these organizations convinced a lot of smokers to cut back or quit completely. The problem of secondhand smoke is increasing because it is so common in our society. It makes secondhand smoke the third-ranking cause of lung cancer among nonsmokers. Mothers who live with a smoking spouse have to realize the ill effects of secondhand smoke on children even before they are born. The smoking components reach the developing fetus through the mother. Infants that are born in a smoking environment weigh less and have a weaker chance of becoming a fully developed child. Secondhand smoke leads to blood clots and damages arterial linings which are the two most leading factors in the development of heart disease. The tobacco companies got scared of the effect that the secondhand smoke research can do to the cigarette makers.
because it is very harmful to your health and can lead to death. I strongly agree
As soon as someone lights a cigarette and puts it up to their mouth they are just asking for health problems to occur. Smoking cigarettes can cause many problems that affect not only the smoker, but anyone else that is around the smoker. Nonsmokers chose to not smoke because they do not like the health risks or negative effects caused by cigarettes. People that chose to turn cigarettes down should not have to still interfere with the negative effects of tobacco because smokers are too rude to just save the smoking until they are in their own home. People should be able to walk into any public place and not have to breathe in this toxic. Cigarette smoking should be banned from public places because the cigarettes affect anyone who is around
Every year tobacco is responsible for over 480,000 deaths. That includes people who have died from secondhand smoke. When statistics like this exist it is hard to understand why tobacco is still legal. This number increases every year that passes and most people believe it isn’t shrinking anytime soon. Tobacco should be banned because it’s deadly to not only the users, it’s highly addictive, and the tobacco industry is corrupting information promoting its harmful product. Society shouldn’t have to deal with anymore premature deaths due to a lethal legal product. We should work towards getting this useless product banned everywhere.
Smokers should have their right to smoke, but should they be able to harm other people? Smokers are killing themselves slowly, along with others, because of the second-hand smoke coming from these cigarettes: as the average person takes a breath of air, the smoke polluting the air is inhaled. This is harming the non-smokers’ lungs due to the fact that the smoker is smoking in public. The environment is being destroyed by these little things all because people are smoking in public places. Unfortunately our quality of life is being harmed by the lack of consideration of others because smoking is still allowed in public areas. Smoking should be banned in public places because it causes respiratory problems, lung cancer, and oral cancer. It affects others within the area, and pollutes public places making them undesirable.
Many health issues are caused by smoking cigarettes, but cardiovascular disease and lung cancer are the main effects of it. Carbon monoxide is the chemical compound found in cigarettes that causes cardiovascular disease; it “reduces the blood 's capacity to carry oxygen to heart and other organs thus causing angina or chest pain, aneurysm, stroke and gangrene” (Anurupa). According to Dr. Anurupa, “smoking can cause the blood to clot up because the carbon monoxide thickens the blood and it will increase the fatty substances in the blood stream, as a result of heart attack.” Nicotine is another harmful chemical compound within cigarettes that can cause harmful health effects to the body, like lung cancer. With lung cancer, smokers have “difficulties with breathing, feeling weak, and keep coughing” (Yoder 1). The chances for smokers to recover from lung cancer are low even if it is discovered in an early stage; this is a disease that takes a long period of time to recover. Smokers should not have to suffer from these horrible health problems. Banning smoking in all indoor and outdoor public places will help to reduce the number of smokers suffering from these horrible
