Why I Want To Read The Bible

When I was young, I listened to Bible Stories a lot. I had grown up hearing many of the stories out of order, and so I began reading the Bible. I wanted to put the events in chronological order in my own mind. After reading everything, from God saying “Let there be light” in the book of Genesis, to the story of the Resurrection in the New Testament, I felt a sense of completion and knowing. As time went on, I began exploring other texts. I have a congenital, non-lethal form of muscular dystrophy, and so I don’t play sports, but reading is a passion I have pursued with great pleasure in my spare time. As I encountered other texts, I became fascinated, almost obsessed, with answering a question: How did I get where I am in the context of everything
