Regardless of how guardians feel about weapons, there is a possibility their child will come in contact with one sooner or later. Federal statistics show that as many as 50 percent of U.S. households contain guns. In today’s society, crimes are more violent and difficult to control because the number of weapons available. In the United States last year there were more than 18,000 people killed by a handgun. We have made it so much easier to purchase a weapon. If we did a criminal background check, you have to have them locked up, and also keep people safe then the world would probable a much a happier place without so many incidents including guns. There are twenty-seven states that prohibit gun possession by at least some of the juvenile offenders. We need gun store owners and companies that carry guns and weapons to do a background for psychotic and criminal behavior. Requiring an individual to obtain a license or permit for the purchase or possession of a firearm can facilitate responsible firearm use by ensuring that an applicant knows how to safely load, fire, and store a gun. That way they have some type of knowledge of relevant firearm laws. Some people may say that the Second Amendment applies and gives us the right to bear arms, however, that doesn’t mean that we can go around buying these weapons and using them for recreational activities. Americans today think that if they own a gun that they have all the power in the world. They also seem to think that if they see a foreigner that they can just kill them to make this country safer. How can people look at their neighbor or close friend and kill them just because they said or did one thing wrong? That is what this country has come to without stricter gun laws. We need to actually do something for once instead of sitting on our lazy behinds. We need to get up and apply this to our fellow Americans, that there is something wrong with the way we live today.
