The people are pro-choice and defend the women who decide to have an abortion. Many don’t know this but, some people, known as pro-life, will deliberately go out of their way to attack women who have had an abortion. They harass, threaten, stalk, and sometimes even go as far as killing women who took an unborn child’s life. “Pro-life position is that a new human life is created at the moment of fertilization and is, thus, entitled to the same legal protections as any other human being” (WND). With that being said, pro-life supports the idea that every child has a right to live and to be born. They don’t believe any excuse is acceptable to terminate a child’s life, even if the mother is mentally unfit or not financially stable. Their argument is more focused on the unborn child rather than putting themselves in the mother’s shoes (Human Rights). She isn’t on birth control and didn’t know the consequences of having unprotected intercourse. If she were to keep the child, she risks being the topic of discussion at school which can lead to behavioral changes and lack in the performance of education. She is also not going to be financially stable to support her child on her own and would possibly have to give up school to get a full-time job. If the teen were to get an abortion, she would not have to deal with the stress and all the responsibility at such a young age. In many teen pregnancies, the mother often is left alone to take care of the child as well. An anonymous teen writes, “Having a kid at my age would not be just unfair to me, it would be unfair to the child, who would grow up without stability. She is so young; she deserves to have the choice over her own body for many reasons. For example, this girl may get kicked out of her house, or won’t even be able to support the baby financially. She might even lose her education just trying to take care of the child. I support the idea that she learns and understands from her mistake and ultimately it was her decision to do what she wished with her body. Rather than put her in a state of repression, the results from her experience would be social maturity and evolution. With abortion, none of these issues would be a concern accept then she would have to deal with the emotional part of determining to terminate the fetus. To cite an example, abortion advocates who argue that abortion is justified because a woman should have the right to "control her own body" are assuming that there is only one body involved in the abortion act that of the woman.” This is the point they are trying to prove. Or, the popular assertion, "No one knows when life begins, so abortion should remain legal." But to argue that no one knows when life begins, and that abortion must remain legal through all nine months of pregnancy, assumes that life does not begin before birth the exact point the abortion advocate is trying to make. Then, there is the well known "back alley" argument that asserts American women will die by the millions if abortion is restricted in any way. But unless you begin with the assumption that the unborn child is not human, this argument is more or less to saying, "Because some people are killed attempting to murder others, the state should make it safe and legal for them to do so."
Abortion is a very controversial and sensitive topic in today’s society. Two different sides to this argument is pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-choice activists only focus on the positives of being able to choose whether a woman can keep her baby. They don’t look at the risks that come with abortion like “shame, guilt, and regret” (Chittom & Newton, 2015). Abortion doesn’t only effect a woman mentally, but also physically. There is a possibility of death or complications when having an abortion. Anything can go wrong even if it is rare for it to happen. I don’t believe a woman should put her physical health at risk in order to kill her own baby. It sound harsh saying the word “kill”, but that is the reality. Pro-choice supporters try to shy away from using phrases like “killing” and “baby” because of how harsh it sounds. They would rather use words like “fetus”, “embryo” and “annihilate”. Using those word make the reality of killing an innocent baby seem less harsh. They bring up reasons to support their stance like stating that “a woman must have the power to control a decision as significant as parenthood, and that individuals should be able to influence decisions to the same extent that those decisions affect their lives” (Anderson, 2015). I would argue that giving birth isn 't always the most responsible option. When it comes down to abortion, there are two types of people, Pro-Life advocates and Pro-Choice advocates. Pro-Life advocates fight against abortion, these people believe that abortion is an abomination and should not be legal because it is wrong and it is the act of killing an innocent child. Pro-Choice advocates believe that women should have to choice as to whether or not they carry the fetus to term or end the pregnancy through abortion before it is taken to term. When deciding if abortion is morally permissible the strongest argument is that fetuses are innocent beings and killing an innocent being is morally impermissible. Any being descending from a human makes it a human, and therefore a fetus is human. As a society we see murder to be immoral especially of an innocent person. Pro-life supporters argue that abortion is equivalent murder because life starts at conception, making a fetus a living person. Supporters believe a fetus has a right to live and wants to live. Abortion goes against the fetus’ right to live and it’s potential to become a member of society.
