He resorts to rule breaking to find his place in the world, as he sees it. Immigrants are also from another country and are desperately trying to make it in the USA but are not accepted by everyone. They are sometimes, not all, forced to break the law in order to become a part of societies working force and make it in the USA. He represents the LBGT communities because many see Loki as a gender bender due to his gender ambiguity.

This theme which is found in literature, mythology and popular culture indicates that it is a fear that resonates with viewers. It established Loki as a different type of antagonist, and someone whom the audience can empathize with. Loki is psychologically damaged, vulnerable and yet powerful so people both sympathies with his character and relate to him. People like Loki’s character because it is sometimes easier to relate and sympathize with Loki than with the Hero’s. More people can relate to feeling anger, jealousy towards a sibling or person, being overshadowed, rejected, being adopted, feeling lonely, and uncertain of a parents love or favor. With hero’s it is sometimes hard to relate to them because not everyone is brave, heroic, and morally just. Loki is there as an example to show us the worst case scenario of what someone can become from experiencing all these negative emotions and gaining an “I’ll show them” or an “If I don’t get what I want…” attitude.
