Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr.had a tough childhood, but made his way to fame. He had a hard time in life as an African American. He became famous for his amazing speech he had in 1963. He was then assassinated in 1968. I do not believe anyone would assassinate Martin but someone did. He was one of the greatest African Americans known to man. In the book “Martin Luther King Jr.”, it mentions Martin’s childhood. On the first page, the text says, “At the age of 6, Martin was playing with a friend. That was the last time the two boys would play together.” Martin Luther king Jr.’s childhood was a very tough time for him. He was name called and teased for his skin color.
