Under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) a person is considered to have a disability if they have a physical or mental impairment that limits one or more major life functions. A disability can occur from genetics or an injury later in life. Those who suffer from any type of disability should be considered as sacred and valuable to society. They are the very innocence of our world. Most people with a disability live not knowing deceit, lies, hurt or pain. They are born as babies some mentally affected and some physically affected at birth. This is significant because adults see people with disabilities as disadvantaged but really, they are blessed to overcome the challenges that come with having a disability. A transformative spirit is when a person is free, and they have a positive or progressive outlook on life. This attitude could indeed affect the way people look at disabilities and also change the way a person with a impairment lives their life. When a person chooses to look at life through their transformative spirit they choose to see things in a better light fighting to bring out the positive within something or accomplish the goal at hand. People with disabilities who choose to have this mindset overcome the obstacles that can impair them even more such as things like stress or bipolar disorder. Some mental disorders such as stress, autism, and anxiety can be monitored with having a free spirit. A free spirit will allow the person to let go of that anger or free themselves of anxiety that has been holding them back. The transformative spirit allows a person to have the courage to stand up to their fear or their strongholds. In the case of autism, a transformative spirit can help the person with the impairment focus they have the free range to explore and find things that control their disability or shed a positive light on their impairment.
