Sophie Scholl once stated, “stand up for what you believe in even if you are standing alone.” I believe it is important to stand up for what you believe in because it can make a difference and you may influence somebody else. It builds up courage and makes you stronger in speaking up about your opinions.
For example, in the book, To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus believes in justice. He believes that everyone should be treated equally. Atticus is a lawyer who decides to take Tom Robinson’s case after he was appointed to it. Tom Robinson is black man who is accused of raping a white woman. Atticus is convinced that the woman was beaten by her father. He knows that it will be difficult and that he probably won’t win, but he never gives up in fighting
