On the Nineteenth of December, as snow fell outside, The Timberline High School Choirs and Orchestras put on a Holiday Celebration that can’t quite be called a concert, It was more of a spectacle centered around music.
The night began with the A Capella Choir’s procession into the dark auditorium. While processing, the men in the choir began singing Alleluia, Rejoice with bright, forward, and powerful tones. This beginning to the concert set an energetic tone for the rest of the night. There is the saying that one only remembers the first song and the last song of a concert. I believe that there is certainly some truth to this, as this first song left a lasting impression. As the A Capella Choir’s set continued, the sheer power of the choir struck me. The incredible size (approximately 80 people) of the choir likely contributed to this aspect of their sound.
After the first concert set was finished, the seamless transition into the Chamber Orchestra’s piece “Masters In This Hall” impressed me and caused fellow audience members to think of the concert not as just another high school concert, but as a polished, professional feeling show. …show more content…

Whether it was a student quartet, or an audience sing-along that kept people engaged, one song that perfectly embodied this energetic, lighthearted fun was “12 Days of Christmas”, arranged by Straight No Chaser, and performed by the A Capella Men. This piece allowed the singers to be performers as well and have fun with the song. Due to the immense energy that the A Capella men invested in the song, the song became hilarious and entertaining, as many audience members laughed aloud throughout the piece.
