The Sad Reality of Genetically Modified Food

“Actions speak louder than words” but in this case results speak louder than words. Just because the labels say it’s safe, is it? How can something that’s only recently been discovered be considered safe when we don’t know the long term outcome? Hearing that my food has been ‘Genetically Modified’ just sounds messed up from the start. Our countries people are trusting what they consume by words spoken by people they’ve never even met and people who are only out to make lots of money with whatever it takes. Do you really think that the business owners running the food system actually eats the average food that is in a grocery store? Doubtful. Largely between 1997 and 1999, genetically modified food ingredients suddenly appeared in 2/3rds of all US processed foods

Genetically modified food has been banned in the European Union, the UK, Japan, Australia and 2 dozen other countries due to the lack of knowledge of the long term effect of GMO’s and the health effects it may end up causing humans and the environment in the long run. If all these other countries are banning such a thing then why is AMerica being so sneaky and not even labeling the food that does have GMO’s in it? Scientists have been worried that by consuming these foods, their mutant genes may be passed as bactrim in the digestive system and no one knows yet how the body will handle this.

So why aren’t foods containing GMO’s labeled? According to New York Times the F.D.A and U.S.D.A they don’t want to label foods containing GMOs because they don’t want to imply to people that these foods might be “different”. We are the only country trying to hide what is going on behind our food, when about 75% of our food in the US contains GMOs.

For starters, GMOs require massive...

Clearly I don’t agree but their are some benefits to some extent of the GMOs. Which would be that they provide large amounts of food in short amounts of time and they claim that this helps world hunger (not completely) and it makes food cheaper for those who can’t really afford anything else but they also built it to be that way so they’re really only benefits that they forced to be benefits. For example, if someone stole your shoes on a hiking trip but gave you socks, you’d be thankful for the socks because it’s better than nothing.

GMOs aren’t a negative all around, for both us humans, animals and the surrounding environment in both nature and society. It’s mostly just an issue in the US and it’s something that should be changed and we should be looking at why other countries are so threatened by it and keep it away as much as possible.
