The Relationship Between the Population and the Life Expectancy of a Country

My course work will be based on the possible relationship between the

population and life expectancy of a country. I will be working from

the internet to gain my information as it is easy, efficient and its

content is up to date and reliable. The main sites that I will gather

my information from are www.worldbank.org and www.worldatlas.com Also

I will gain some statistical evidence from a book called 'world in

figures'. I will try to prove the authenticity of this hypothesis:

1) The countries with a high average life expectancy will have a high

population

I will test the reliability of this statement by examining the

relationship between the two fields and trying to establish a positive

correlation through a series of data presentation. Also to extend my

work I will investigate other factors which may affect the population

such as the quality of life of a country. And in turn how does the

financial state of the country affect this?

Predictions:

a. The extremely rich countries will have a slightly smaller

population as most people will be very career minded

b. Some of the very poor third world countries will have a very high

population but low life expectancy

I will need the following information:

1) The average population of 30 countries

2) The amount of money spent on education in these 30 countries

3) Quality of life for these countries

Stratified random sample

I decided to use the statistical profile of approximately thirty

countries. This is a very easy to manage amount and still provides me

with substantial statistical evidence. I chose the thirty countries

using a stratified random sample.

To make the investigation fair I took countries from all continents
