Susan Smith, a critic, states that the millennial generation is lazy, entitled, obsessed with technology and care less about working hard. Smith believes that our current society will be destined for failure in the hands of the current millennial generation. Smith is not the only one who believes that the millennial generation will lead our current society to failure. Yet the same labels have been said to the previous generation and the generation before them. Each generation does not like the generation that follows them because of how different they are. I believe that we are not lazy and entitled, it’s just that the previous generation does not like how we act and react the same way they do. Many people believe that we are not a hard working generation and are lazy. I will have to disagree, the millennial generation are very hard working and are not lazy. In my opinion, some of the millennial generation are disloyal but some are not, it is wrong to generalize the whole generation as disloyal. In Charles Thompson’s essay “research found that 6 out of 10 employed Millennials thought it very unlikely they would remain with the same employer for their entire careers.” (Thompson). The statistic may be correct but it depends on the person if they would stay with the employer or not, it’s not because they are disloyal, it could be many different reasons. One reason that they don’t stay with same employer is that the job doesn’t provide as much money or improvement in that job field. People might argue with what I just said about money that it shows that we are materialistic. I would argue back that we are not materialistic because we want money, money is the source for us to live. It is wrong for critics to call the whole generation disloyal or
