Medical Marijuana is a very strong topic that strings up many arguments. Medical Marihuana has been loved and hated by many different people across the world. This has many different kinds of pros and cons that are either favored or hated by many.
One of the talked about arguments of Medical Marijuana is the “Health Risks of Smoking Marijuana”. The pros as explained by Lester Grinspoon, “little evidence that smoking marijuana represents a significant health risk. It’s been smoked widely in western countries for more than four decades, there have been no reported cases of lung cancer or emphysema.” The cons as explained by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), “ Marijuana Smoke, like Tobacco smoke is irritant to the throat and lungs and can cause a heavy cough during use. Gregory Bunt explaining the cons says, “There is no known evidence that the effect of marijuana in diminishing pain is related to any specifically identify analgesic effect”. Both of these sides show proof about their sides from recent studies.
In the discussion of “Addictiveness of Marijuana” Doctor Colin Blakemore explains (pros) that “Cannabis leads to psychological dependence, but there is scant evidence that it carries a risk of true addiction. Unlike cigarette smokers, most users do not take the drug on a daily basis…”. Nora D.
