One of the many reasons people left England was because the strict religious practices and they could not practice religion the way they wanted to. Once they were settled in the North American colonies they could tailor their religion more to their beliefs. In contrast, the different colonies had different religions, but one event that help to reform the colonies was The Great Awakening.
