The musculoskeletal system is made up of bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints and other connective tissue that supports and binds tissue and other organs together. Each muscle is a discreet organ constructed of skeletal muscle tissue, blood vessels, and nerves. Did you know there are roughly 600 organs that make up the muscular system? They include the cardiac muscles, smooth muscles, and skeletal muscles to name a few. The heart is the cardiac muscle. Smooth muscle are the tissues that line blood vessels and organs, such as the stomach and intestines. The skeletal muscles, which are the most well known and familiar of the muscle organ system, helps hold the skeletal frame work together. They make up bout 40 percent of the …show more content…

They support and bind tissue and organs together. Primary function is to support the body, allow motion and protect vital organ. The skeletal system and muscular system are two separate systems that function together. It provides movement, maintains posture, and body position. They work together through a series of impulses and signals communicated by the brain. In order for movement to happen, the nervous system signals the skeletal muscles to contract. When the muscles contract, it causes the attached bone to follow, creating movement. Bones and muscles are supported by connective tissue playing the role in structural …show more content…

Like most systems in the body, the muscular system does work in isolation. The most obvious systems that interact the muscular system are the skeletal system, the nervous system and the circulatory system. Muscles are also involved in the digestive system, the respiratory system and the immune system. Let's discuss the relationship with the digestive system that the skeletal system has together. The skeletal system cannot produce it’s own calcium to strengthen itself. It depends on the digestive system. For example, when a person eats food that contains calcium and phosphorus, the body breaks the food down into smaller molecules that can be absorbed by the body bloodstream. Also with the aid of the circulatory system, the smaller molecules of calcium and phosphorus are then delivered into the bones tissues that need them for repair and to strengthen themselves. Bottom- line, the digestive system is a great help for the musculoskeletal system.
1. Scoliosis- Sideways curvature of the spine,
Scoliosis occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty
Most cases are mild with few symptoms. Some children develop spine deformities that get more severe as they grow. Severe scoliosis can be painful and disabling.
Often, no treatment is necessary. Sometimes a brace or surgery is needed.
SYMPTOMS
Pain areas- in the back Also common- leaning to one side, muscle spasms, physical deformity, or uneven
