A great destruction resulting in the extensive loss of life, especially by fire, this was what the Holocaust was. Throwing hundreds and thousands of innocent people into gas chambers. The Holocaust represents 11 million lives that abruptly ended, the extermination of people not for who they were but for what they were. Groups such as handicaps, Gypsies, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Catholics, Poles, Soviet prisoners of war, political dissidents and others were persecuted by the Nazis because of their religious/political beliefs, physical defects, or failure to fall into the Aryan ideal. The Holocaust was lead by a man named Adolf Hitler who was born in 1889, and died in 1945.
The Holocaust began with a single man. A man who was deranged, yet had a passion for art and reading. A killer who was undeniably smart and was able to create brilliant plans. An individual who fought in a war for Germany but was responsible for the mass murder of millions of people who lived within its boundaries. His name was Adolph Hitler.

The Holocaust was the mass murder of over ten million European 'undesireables' between 1941 and 1945 by the Nazi regime. Hitler and his Nazis established a large number of labor and death camps throughout Nazi occupied countries. A holocaust, by definition, is a mass human slaughter caused by fire. These events Hitler authorized were categorized as a holocaust because after the prisoners in the camps died, or, if they were at a labor camp, close enough to death that they were no longer of any use to the Nazi guards stationed at the camp they were at, the guards would burn the bodies in mass. The Nazi Party was formed in January 1919 by Anton Drexler. Originally it was named the German Workers Party (DAP). Hitler joined in Autumn of 1919. He quickly rose to become the leader of the party. The party was transformed by Hitler and became a political party rather than the discussion group that it had been when he joined. The SA (Brownshirts) was formed to protect Hitler and other party leaders at meetings. It also disrupted the meetings of the Nazi’s political opponents.
James Cross Giblin (born July 8,1993) is an American author of the book, “The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler.” Growing up in Ohio, Giblin worked on school newspapers and wrote a play at the Western Reserve University. It was later on published in the year 1954. After years of hard work in writing plays, he hasn’t succeeded to publish more. In 1954, the author attempted to get his master’s degree in New York at the Columbia University in which he succeeded. After that, he set off to work at the British Book Centre, which was the big step that would lead him into publishing. Giblin next changed to be an editor-in-chief in Seabury Press of children’s division, Clarion books. He went back to being a contributing editor in 1989 so that he could write more with the hopes of publishing his books. He then published his first book, “The Scarecrow Book.” He then wrote more and more books, which received many different kinds of awards. This man wrote mostly about historical characters such as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Adolf Hitler. The book I read about Hitler was one of many books from this author, of which many received awards. “The Life and Death of Adolf Hitler” received the Sibert Award in 2003.
The Holocaust could best be defined as the mass killing of about 6 million Jewish people during World War II. The main outbreak of the war was triggered when Britain and France declared war on Germany, due to their invasion in World War I. WWII lasted for six years. World War II was one of the most important conflicts in World History, there were many important events that occurred during this war; one of the main events includes Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust. The Holocaust is one of the major segregation events that occurred in history that made the world what it is today.
Adolf Hitler was born on April 20, 1889 in Austria. Actually, his real name is Adolphus Heidler. While in his childhood it was very noticeable that he was a leader. He was also very pampered by his mother Klara. He loved her dearly and was very devastated about her lose to breast cancer in 1903. His father on the other hand was disliked and respected by his son. When his death occurred in 1907, Hitler wasn't nearly as disappointed in his death than as his mothers. Adolf had a total of 7 brothers and sisters. Hitler's religion was German Catholic but later in his life he would become anti-Jew.
