Currently I work at a daycare and have been working in the industry since I was a sophomore in high school. I have seen preschoolers fight over our classroom computer and beg parents for their phones or personal iPads when they get picked. Younger generations are starting to use technology and some kindergarten classes have made most of their curriculum electronically. Technology is an amazing concept and has benefited us in many ways. Personally I didn’t get the privilege to consistently use a computer until I was in the third grade. Working with preschoolers I have to prepare the kids for kindergarten. I remember walking as a class to the computer labs in third grade to learn how to type on a computer. The computer program we used was Type to Learn. There would be fun little games that involved fast typing, with each level it got harder and we had to master a new skill. My elementary school made us practice Type to Learn until we went to middle school. Once I got to middle school we started learning how to write short papers and would eventually type them in a computer lab. I remember that around three of my classes took all our quizzes online. Every teacher would tell us our quizzes were online because it was easier for them to be graded but I also believe that they knew that technology would only grow and that they were preparing us. All of my books that come with online access codes come with an e-text. I wish these e-texts were as interactive as the ones I had in high school. I enjoyed the feature of when the book could be read out loud to me. Having the text be read a loud to be help me understand the information in a different way. Only class I have taken in college that offered videos within the e-text has been Spanish. In my human physiology class that I took offered videos with explanations and diagrams/animated pictures on certain topics. Many times I have struggled to understand what a professor is saying when trying to explain certain concepts and those videos helped get a different
