It is about approaching life from a different perspective and enables you to be inspired, energized and happy with your life. Self-improvement is about loving yourself and expressing your gifts to its fullest. It is about learning self-discipline and taking responsibility for the direction that your life is going to take. Also understand your strengths, talents and your purpose in life. Self-improvement will guide you to be aware of your beliefs, attitudes and behaviors. It also enables you to accept yourself and be responsible for your actions, attitudes, and thoughts. As we all know, every time we try to pursue our quest for personal development, often times we fail because of our weak self-discipline, especially if the things we're trying to change about ourselves are very tempting to do. Say it to yourself and if possible speak it out loud. For example, you plan to lose weight but you really would like to eat a lot, then say to yourself "I want to be healthy and live an active lifestyle". This technique sets you back to your senses, and lets you decide to pull away from temptation. As an ancient proverb says "rule your mind or it will rule you". Improving your self-discipline is a tough task, to be honest in my pursuit, I've failed several times, but the most important point is to never give up, you may have failed a hundred times, but if you never stop you may succeed on the one hundred and first attempt, and if you gave up after the hundredth time then your efforts would have been wasted. So have guts and don't leave anything half-done. Self-discipline leads to Self-improvement and does not happen as an accident or overnight.
