God’s Kingdom is a place where He places His servants in order to see the world as He does and serve in His Kingdom. His Kingdom, also known as “the House that God built,” is a place that always has pressing needs and it is important for Christians to understand their “calling” in God’s Kingdom. As Frederick Buechner states, “The place God calls you is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet,” Christians need to first recognize the needs of the world and become inspired enough to be actively involved in the coming of God’s Kingdom. Whether becoming involved means being involved through politics, or even the church, Christians should feel the need to ensure that the coming of God’s Kingdom is pure and great, just as God intends it to be. Christians have the unique ability to make everyone in God’s Kingdom feel loved and appreciated, and spread the word and love for God around the world. An example of this would be missionary work, domestically and globally. One of my dreams is to be able to travel overseas and do some mission work, particularly in countries of distress and calling for help. Although I am reserved and quiet during class, listening to the class discussions and reading books such as Vivid has really allowed me to grow closer to God. Before coming to Dordt, my relationship with God was kind of up in the air. I have always been a believer in God and in Christ, but I was not a regular in church and worshipping Him. Dordt is allowing me to develop my plan in allowing myself to serve in God’s Kingdom, while Core 100 has already helped me find my “Kingdom” and “Identity.” My calling is to contribute to God’s Kingdom in a pure and clean way, ensuring that the coming of God’s Kingdom is great and Christ’s salvation continues to be the backbone of Christianity. “We are saved by grace through faith,” and I will continue to be actively involved in the coming of God’s Kingdom by searching for my
