Not everyone is the same, especially when it comes to expectations. Depending on a person's ethnic background, the necessities are different. It's the same type of idea for different cultures; Chinese, French, American etcetera all have different mindsets when it comes to what they want to see in a hotel during their stay.

The Four Seasons has really stressed the cultural differentiation and made it evident that something that an American would want would be something that the Chinese would see as unnecessary and vice versa. Using the term cultural chameleon, shows that the Four Seasons takes their time to sit back and observe how the different cultures react to things that remind them of home. For example, incorporating a pair of slippers in each room for the Chinese guests makes the company look more professional. Small gestures make a huge difference, especially when it creates a sense of personal care from the hotel to the guest. Another factor to keep in mind when caring for Chinese guests, are symbols. If you have someone from Britain or another country who have had problems with America in the past, make sure there's no symbols of American flags around. The hotels job is to make the customers nothing but happy, and American flags could cause certain guests to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Something that could be incorporated is multitude of different flags hanging right next to each other.
