Throughout the story of Beowulf, Beowulf is constantly portrayed as a hero through his encouraging words, and tremendous bravery. He gets into multiple fights with various evil dwellers, some being easy for him to defeat, others requiring a lot more fortitude and resilience. The most formidable opponent that Beowulf encounters is definitely the Fire Breathing Dragon. Not only is the dragon intimidating just from its ferocious physical appearance but Beowulf is also performing under tremendous circumstances.
