Three different themes occuring in The Fellowship of the Rings In the movie Fellowship of the rings there are numerous themes that occur. One being the corruption of power which occurs with the ring, another being death and immortality being an advantage while possessing the ring, and lastly the power of friendship. These three are very important themes throughout this film continuously showing up. One of the themes is the corruption and bad temptation the ring brings to all who possess it. The ring was made by the dark lord and has the power to govern all people and live forever. There are numerous cases in this movie that show friendship, between almost all of the characters.The friendships in this movie are blatantly bromanticle. The first knowledge of friendship is between Gandalf of Gray and Bilbo Baggins, these two have been lifelong friends. When Gandalf learns that Bilbo has the ring like any good friend would do he warns him about the dark powers the ring holds and how it corrupts and brings nothing but bad things towards the owner. After being the kind and understanding friend Gandalf then had to be the harsh and stern one and make Bilbo give up the ring, not only had he surpass death but he was showing the power to all his town. Another account of friendship is between Frodo and his first hand Sam, throughout the movies you see the bond they share but it isn’t until the end of Fellowship of the ring where you see the truly love they share for one another. While Frodo is trying to leave everyone to stop causing harm to their life, he climbs in a boat and is sailing away. Sam jumps in the water without thinking about his lack of knowledge for swimming, this shows the best friendship because Sam was willing to risk his own life to be with his friend and protect
