The Teton Wilderness borders the south end of Yellowstone, the western side of Washakie Wilderness, the eastern side of Grand Teton National Park, and the northern region of the Mt Leidy Highlands. This wilderness area spans for 584,708 acres and is located in the state of Wyoming. The Continental Divide runs straight through Teton Wilderness which constructs one of the most interesting hydrological features across the country. This feature is called Two Oceans Pass. The reason why this place is so amazing is because there is a place where water is actually covering the Continental Divide which allows fish to swim from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean drainages. When visiting, visitors will see evidences of the fires that took place in 1988. Besides vast scenes of nature, Teton Wilderness is home to some of the most exotic wildlife. In the summer, trumpeter swans, sand hill cranes, falcons, and song birds can be seen, and golden eagles, otters, mink, moose, and grey wolves are year-round inhabitants. In March of 1768, in present-day Ohio, Tecumseh was born. Tecumseh's name means "Panther in the sky." Tecumseh was the fifth born in his family. His mom, Methotaske, was a Creek, and his dad, Puckeshinewa, was a Shawnee. He excelled at the game's Indian boys played. He also organized other boys to go on hunts. When Tecumseh was younger he admired and looked up to the warriors, like his older brother. He also tried to be like the warriors. Later in his life, Tecumseh became a powerful chief to the Native American Tribe, the Shawnee's. He did not want the Americans to take the Native American's land. He accomplished many things in his life.
Max Oelschlaeger is an American ecological philosopher and works with the Center for Environmental Philosophy at the University of North Texas. Besides The Idea of Wilderness, Caring for Creation and The Environmental Imperative are two of his other books. The Idea of Wilderness won the Texas Institute of Letters’ 1991 Carr P. Collins Award and the 1998 San Antonio Conservation Society award. Oelschlager argues that the change of the idea of nature to the idea of wilderness has changed through the writings of environmentalist, scientist and that religion has played a huge impact on how we view and understand our relationship to nature. He hopes that humans realize their relationship with nature and learns to appreciate what nature has to offer. Oelschlaeger uses more archaeology evidence and reports and other works written by environmentalist and theologists.

In Montana, tall mountains create two distinct climate regions. To the west of the mountains, the weather is milder (Av2 books). Yellowstone National Park lies mostly in Wyoming, but three of the park’s entrances are located in southern Montana. People go to Yellowstone National park to see the view and the glaciers, some people go there to just go on a vacation to see the wildlife (Av2 books).
For most Americans, traveling to and from home is relatively simple. Travel in most of the United States is on paved roadways, and most roadways draw very little attention from conservationist groups. This, however, is not the case for residents in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.
Kusawa Territorial Park was initially recognized under chapter 10 of the First Nations Final Agreements of both Carcross/Tagish (CFTN) and Kwanlin Dun (KDFN). The Aishihik and Champagne First Nation (CAFN) traditional territory also extends into the park area, though the park is not stated in their final agreement, they are members in the planning and management of the park.

There are 765 Wilderness areas in the United States, one of which being the John-Krebs Wilderness. The John-Krebs Wilderness is one of the smaller Wilderness areas with just below 40,000 acres, and it is located in California. This Wilderness was named after John Hans Krebs, a former congressman of California who was an activist in protecting land. The John-Krebs Wilderness contains a sweeping landscape of mountains, canyons, meadows, lakes, rushing rivers, giant Sequoia trees, and incredible diversity in vegetation. Throughout the low-elevated areas there are drought-resistant chaparral and a blue oak woodlands blanket. In the higher-elevated areas you can find mountain summits and alpine lakes, which are on the eastern boundary of the Wilderness.
First, one must understand the concept of a nation park and wilderness. Yellowstone became the first national park. President Ulysses S. Grant designated Yellowstone, as a national park in 1872. The law establishing Yellowstone as the first National Park declared the area would be preserved "for the benefit and enjoyment of the people." All "timber, mineral deposits, natural curiosities, or wonders" would be kept "in their natural condition" (McNamara, 2014). The natural state of the park is a wilderness area. Although wilderness is often taken to mean a wild or untamed area people have held various perspectives of wilderness throughout history. Some of these historical perspectives of wilderness in the United States are: 1."The Puritan model encouraged an aggressive and even antagonistic attitude toward wilderness. The wilderness must be tamed” (Dejardins, page 154). Wilderness was, as an area to be feared but yet an area where one could escape from oppression. 2. “The Lockean model sees the wilderness as real estate, a commodity to be owned and used” (DesJardins, page 154). 3. “The romantic model views the wilderness as a symbol of innocence and purity” (DesJardins, page 155).
The Glen Canyon is a better place because of the dam, because now there is way more power for a lot of people. Cause of the dam, more people are able to visit because it is easier to get there. Yes it kind of destroyed part of Glen Canyon but they didn’t just do it for fun. They did it for a reason and that reason was more power.
The North Cascades became a national park on October 2, 1968. It is located in the north central area of Washington. Since it’s inception the park’s mission statement has evolved to include concerns of the entire ecosystem. Some major tourist attractions are the beautiful ice sculpted, jagged mountains, which rise above deep-forested valleys-terrain carved by moving ice. The Park Complex contains more glaciers than any other national park in the United States outside Alaska. These glaciers are an important source of water for salmon, other wildlife, plants, and people in the Puget Sound region. The cascading waters, which provide a large and expanding nearby population with a wide variety of recreational opportunities, from boating and camping to climbing and backpacking. The vast wildlife also is a major attraction because it is the core of one of the largest protected wild areas in the United States and is a substantial portion of it is designated wilderness. Humans here are visitors, who come to enjoy nature on nature's terms. The park provides a habitat for one of the greatest diversities of plant life in North America including rare and sensitive species. Some wildlife that live here are a variety of fish, deer, moose, geese, all kinds of birds, horses, bald eagles, wolves, grizzly bears, mountain lions, mountain goats and black bears. Ancient forest holds millions of living organisms and thousands of diverse life forms. The history of the park in general is also a tourist attraction for the park its was after all home to at least 4 tribes whose descendants now live nearby and includes, within its boundaries, three contemporary communities. One should be able to know when a specific trail or section is closed due to alerts in effect (“Safety”). Also, accidents can be reported on the trail (Appalachian). Although it is important to know how to stay safe and help someone on the trail there are some things on the trail than can help keep one safe. The main trail markings include paint blazers, double blazes, and metal markers (Birchard 145-150). Leave no trace signs are located through the trail (Birchard 156). Canyonlands National Park, immense amounts of wilderness and rock, is located at the heart of the Colorado Plateau (Canyonlands National Park-Geology). Millions of years have formed specific features to the rock and surrounding wilderness that make it so special. Throughout the park, you will find that the sedimentary rock has formed many features such as hundreds of colorful canyons, mesas, buttes, fins, arches, and spires. The Green and Colorado rivers have played a major role in the formation of many of these features. These rivers cut through the park forming two massive canyons. This further splits the park into three distinct zones. “Island in the Sky” sits to the north while “The Maze” sits off to the west and “The Needles” to the east (Canyonlands National Park Information Guide). “Island in the Sky” serves as Canyonlands’ observation tower; it allows tourists to see overwhelming vistas of the rest of the land. “The Maze,” as hinted at by the name has been described as a “30 square mile puzzle in sandstone” (NPS: Nature & Science» Geology Resources Division). This section of the park often ranks as one of the most remote and inaccessible areas of the United States. Lastly, “The Needles” is known for its diversity in rock features. Throughout this land, features such as sculptured rock spires, arches, canyons, grabens, and potholes can be seen. The varying names hint at the diversity of the land as a whole.
