There are many and varied opinions on technology. But most of us can come to a consensus that technology is advancing our world at a rapid speed. Surgeries that were once life threatening are done within an hour with a robot, or a CEO can hold a meeting with someone across the country. Many issues of the past have been conquered by the advancement in technology. However, despite these great advancements, technology has allowed room for more issues that we must overcome. Technophobia is now being seen in many adults, more than ever. Those who resent the change and movement towards technology are considered technophobic. This can cause extreme cases, as all phobias do. There have been many studies on technophobia and its factors, but it is still not truly understood. Humanoids are robots that are based off of humans but, they have failed to get the appearance perfect. The appearance of this brings up a newer form of research, the uncanny valley. Researchers have found that depending on how much something resembles a human messes with the amount of comfort they feel. The scale increases exponentially until it gets right to exact human likeness. In Figure 1 below, anthropomorphism is the resemblance of a human.
