There are many tracking technologies that law enforcement are using in this day and age. Using newly developed technology may help law enforcement capture criminals much faster. Also, this enables officers to respond more quickly to a crime scene. Using some of these equipment can save a person’s life with a quick response.
A lot of the high-tech devices are costly, but they seem to work in states that have a high crime rate. Technology has its positives and negatives but nothing is one hundred percent effective. Some technology is notice by people in the streets and tends to get destroyed before it can even be utilized. With that being said it does not work when crimes are committed in those areas. Finally, so of these technologies may be against a persons’ fourth amendment right.
There are plenty of new technologies and devices that law enforcement uses that have its good and bad issues. For instance using the drones, has its good and bad. Using the drones in the city environment can cause issues. The drones could certainly get caught up in the wire that are up in the air. This would cause outages or even start electrical issues in neighborhoods.
Another issue would be that you can only use them in open areas. This would be holding back from catching criminal in the inner cities where crime is really big. Using them in open rural areas tends to help with bigger crimes being committed like terrorism. Countries like Iraq, Iran and other countries see these devices a terrorist attack from the United States. This tends to start wars when using the large drones in other countries.
In my opinion I like the shot spotter device. Officers can be quite a distance away and know where a gun has been shot off from. This gives the offic...

In conclusion technology is changing every day. Law enforcement has to keep up with the time. Some devices started back 1932 that I could find and they are on the rise as far as being in police cars. Most are expensive but worth the monies. The United States need technology devices to keep criminal activity down. Criminal activity is not dropping rapidly but it is decreasing slowly.
