“Physical education teachers, also called P.E. teachers, instruct students in health, fitness and sports. They may work in public or private schools, teaching students in grades K-12.The main focus of Physical education teachers is to improve the person’s knowledge of the body and make their bodies better physically and mentally. ” (study.com). In physical education I plan to help kids or even adults better themselves. I want people to be healthy and physically in shape. I want to make a difference in the community. Physical Education is a way to help people and build some discipline/character in the school systems. “In fact, many studies are now displaying that kids who are substantially active also perform better in the classroom.” (www.sparkpe.org). …show more content…

For example if you are at work, Workers who are physically active may perform better at work than workers inactive at work. I feel that physical education is an important ascent in life.

If you want to be a Physical Education teacher you will need to go to college. “You would need a Bachelor’s degree in Physical education, Science, aerobics, etc.” Also, if you want to teach you will need to get a teaching certification. Having a Teaching certification is not mandatory for private schools but, for all public schools you will need a teaching certification. Science courses such as human anatomy, biology, exercise science and more will be needed to become a PE teacher.” (.study.com). ‘’When you get your degree and get certified in in teaching you will be able to teach in any grades k-12.’’, (Sterling Hicks). “There is no set pay based on job level k-12 but pay varies state-to-state.”, (Cedric Ware). Only way to increase pay is experience or higher education which means you can teach above k-12. (Cedric Ware). According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, as of 2015, the median salary was $54,550 for all elementary school teachers, $55,860 for all middle school teachers, and $57,200 for all high school teachers. Money is not a reason I want to become a physical education teacher because as you can see they don’t make that much. They make enough to survive and take care of their families which I am trying to do. I just want to be able to do something that I love and would do for free but, do it well enough to get paid for it. Most Physical education teachers are coaches of a sport team which gives you another incentive to have. It’s not that much either but, being able to coach kids and help them mentally and physically is even
