Understand how yesterday's imagined technology is effecting our current technological basis. We take a step back and look at "cause and effect." Because we have imagined characters like Iron Man, Halo, and the video game Mech Assault, we wonder what it would be like to be in that character's shoes. These ideas and fantasies may seem harmless as a movie or game although it has affected a few individuals to the point of wanting to make a real suit out of a dream.

"The goal is to begin integrating capabilities over the next 12 months and have the first suit ready for full field testing in four to five years." said Michel Fieldson, TALOS lead, SOCOM. U.S. Special Operations Command wants its operators to be protected with what it informally calls an Iron Man suit, named after the fictional superhero.

The creators of movies, video games, and comics allows us to apply the imagined technology we presently have and use it to adapt and create the physical technology of tomorrow. With little information to find there also seems to have been one casualty in the creation process of TALOS. This information causes great concern for how many lives it could cost within the development stages of the suit. If they are to proceed with development they should take extreme precautions with the use of living human test subjects. A good alternative might be to use a robotic human skeletal system for premiere testing and not putting human life at risk first.

...ion is the source of our technological advances. Someone had to dream up the iPhone before it became a reality just as Stan Lee created Iron Man now with a mechanical suit being designed. Given the advantages and disadvantages of TALOS should creators look toward the future with excitement and wonderful imaginations or stop creating and hope that future developments just appear with no given sacrifice?
