On Friday, May 31, 2017, I observed a sports bar on my friends, Jacob’s, twenty-first birthday party. I decided to observe a bar for my observation because I like to go play pool and hang out with friends there in my free time on the weekends; however, this particular bar I have never went to before. I went to the sport’s bar located in Meriden, Kansas. It can be found on main street, a little bar in the middle of now where. This bar was incredibly small. It had two different rooms. The room located as soon as you walked in was the smaller one of the two and this room is where the bar was located with people sitting around it on barstools. The second room was bigger and more spacious; this is where tables and chairs were located. We could order

While many stereotypes exist concerning what a pool hall is, many are not true. It is not full of "motorcycle people," nor is it a drunken scene as depicted in movies. On September 12, 2014, I observed two people; Person A and Person B. The observation took place at Applebee’s, a local restaurant, beginning at 7:21 p.m. and ending observation at 8:06 p.m. I was serving their table for the evening, enabling myself to observe them closely. The restaurant had died down from the dinner rush, leaving them one of three tables in the smoking section, normally filled with eight. Along with the outside light fading, the lighting indoors was dim, making the dining experience feel more quiet and intimate. The background noise was filled with a light roar of other group’s conversations, and a jazz station played quietly from the speakers overhead.

Buffalo Wild Wings is a sports bar with the slogan, “Beer, Wings, Sports!” This restaurant chain was founded in 1982; all the employees wear shirts with the number 82 on them. The location of the store being discussed is 1598 Nixon Dr. Moorestown, NJ 08057. This restaurant is designed to resemble a football stadium. As you enter, there are benches with lockers underneath which resemble a locker room which leads up to the host stand and a Behind the host stand is a colossal “Buffalo Wild Wings” sign, just like there would be in an actual football stadium. The seating revolves around the bar, which is the focal point of the restaurant. Above the bar are two projection screens around 15x12 feet each, which simulates where the football field. The dining areas are spread out on the 3 sides of the bar that are visible to customers and arranged in a way that mirrors that of the stadium seating. Displayed on each wall are different jerseys that were signed by players from each professional sport.

The moment I stepped into the Hyde Middle School gym for tryouts, I already knew that I would make the team. The basketball I played in my Elementary school has been a big help for me coming into the tryouts. Tryouts were on August 24,2015 where we did drills to help the coach see our skills as an individual players. I could just see all the timid faces of everyone in the gym. The final few hours of tryouts, we were scrimmaging playing five on five. I thought I did a good job scoring most of my team's points besides the fact I missed a wide open lay-up. When tryouts was over, coach told me the few words that I was waiting to hear the whole entire I was at tryouts,“Congratulations, I have selected you to play on my team.”

Underhill is an environmental psychologist; additionally he employs the basic idea that one’s surroundings influences ones behavior and invented structuring man-made environments to make them conducive to retail purposes.

Let me take you back about 10 years, back to the year 2006. On any given Friday night, you could find me getting ready to meet my friends at Sportsmen’s. My friends and I always dressed to impress when hitting our favorite hot spot or as we liked to refer to Sportsmen’s as Headquarters. Knowing I would be going to Sportsmen’s filled me with excitement and anticipation. Walking into Sportsmen’s would always put a smile on my face, because I was greeted as soon as I would open that door. The people there were so friendly and ready to have some clean fun. Of course, every bar has their regulars. I was proud to be one of them. Now Sportsmen’s is a quaint little one story building. It is clean but smoke fills the air. Honestly, coming into this class, I had no idea what to expect. I have never been in a sports management class, and honestly don’t know much about sports with the exception of baseball. All I knew coming into this class is that it was online, which was a benefit to me as in I’m a better learner when I get to work at my own pace. However, when I read the syllabus and figured out that this class would be mainly writing proposals on different topics, it began to worry me. The last time I had written an essay was my senior year of high school, so I knew I’d have to bring out some of the old knowledge to be able to write a quality paper again. Even though writing papers is a dislike of mine, these proposals turned out to be a good experience
Then, the grouping of more specific because I noticed the fathers grouped together and shared a beer on the patio. I overheard them discussing the sports news for over an hour, which I assumed the more they shared a common the higher level of interest the conversation is for the both of them then allowing their groupthink bond to form stronger and more likely to attempt to relate. As more parents with children arrived (primary small groups) , they divided by their age group and gender. I noticed the moms were all sitting on the table, some with their babies in their lap. The women were divided in sub groups, some that stayed to talk longer and the ones that slowly drifted in other areas of the party. More men begin grouping outside, and in my opinion I believe the alcohol brought the social likeness to interact, I noticed more social interaction occurred with the people near the bar. But consumption of alcohol at the party would be considered a norm, once the host brought out the cans allowing the drinking to occur. As the party continued, some of the guests norms were revealed as they said their goodbye’s early when I heard about their early morning shifts from those which were apart of the work-group. I learned they believed in maintaining a schedule, they valued their job title, and held standards for themselves- which meant leaving a party early. The people that conversed in the work group, many of them left around the same hour of time. Perhaps the groupthink was in effect when one left the
Participation of children in sporting activities relies on the content the media presents. The media gives prominence to sports but with a degree of bias. The most prevalent sport in America today, as portrayed by the media, is football. Television channels portray it as a super sport. While such portrayals are essential in motivating children into participating in the sport, it deters the development of other sports in society thereby denying children who lack talent in the sport effective opportunities to hone their skills in other types of sports. Children or youth participation in sports is fundamental for the growth of each child, which involves psychology in children in sports. By utilizing coaching and mentorship, along with personal growth or development in each child, children can use sports psychology to mature their sports skills.
