The author of my novel is George Orwell. He is an important author in 20 century. He is respected a lot in Anglosphere. His famous novels are “Animal Farm” and “1984.” “Animal Farm” is published in 1945 and “1984” is published in 1949. Both stories are different but, the messages for the readers are similar.
The “Animal Farm” starts with the old boar, Old Major teaches that humans are enemies. When he dies, two young pigs, Snowball and Napoleon command and prepare for the rebellion. The animals kick out the irresponsible farmer, Mr. Jones from the farm and rename it to “Animal Farm.” Snowball teaches the animals to read and write and Napoleon teaches young puppies on the principles Animalism. He feels discouraged by the stern control of the Party, which forbids free thoughts and expression. He works in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth. His role is to forge the historical documents to fit the needs of the Party. He realizes their hypocrisy, and then resists the totalitarian Party. Also the Party reveals about Emmanuel Goldstein, the legendary leader of the Brotherhood, is the most perilous man. Winston’s abhorrence of the Party grows more intensely. He writes a diary furtively for his illegal thoughts and he becomes a regime seceder. One day, he accidentally loves with Julia, who works in the Ministry of Truth. He receives the message that O’Brien, who is a member of the Inner Party, wants to see him. Winston believes that he is secretly a member of the Brotherhood. Winston and Julia enter the Brotherhood. However, he is surrounded by Thought Police and he is caught to the Ministry of Love. He realizes that O’Brien is an agent of the Thought Police and he monitors him for seven years. Winston faces with his worst fear which is the rats in Room 101 when he gets tortured. Terrified by the realization that this threat will come true if he continues to resist, he denounces Julia and swears his loyalty to the Party. Winston is a frail man, his spirit breaks. He meets Julia but, feels nothing for her. Eventually, he passes same steps as the other thoughtcriminals, and becomes loving “Big Brother”
