Nikola Tesla was a famed inventor in the 1800’s ,and 1900’s. Nikola Tesla was born in July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Austria-Hungary. His parents were Reverend Milutin Tesla, a Serbian-Orthodox priest, and Djuka Tesla a very smart ,and inventive mother.He was a very smart kid which he saids was all thanks to his mother's teachings and his father's poetry.

At a young age Nikola Tesla already knew what he wanted to do , and that was to become an electrical engineer ,but his father wanted him to become a priest. One day Nikola got really ill almost to the point of death until his father told God that if he lets his son live he will pay for Nikola’s education to become an electrical engineer. As I uttered these inspiring words the idea came like a flash of lightning and in an instant the truth was revealed. In 1882 Tesla went to work at Continental Edison Company in Paris. While there he made his first induction motor (or A.C. power) ,which made his boss, Charles Bachelor notice him as an inventor. After Charles started to noticed Tesla as an inventor, he sent him to the United States to work at another one of Edison's companies.

When Tesla arrived in the United States ,he only had five cents in his pocket, and a letter of recommendation from Charles Bachelor stating”,I know only of two great people in this world you (Thomas Edison) ,and him (Nikola Tesla).” When Tesla and Edison met Tesla told Edison about his inventions of the induction motor and how his A.C. power could be better than Edison’s D.C. power. Even though A.C. power was better than D.C. power Edison was not to fond of it because he thought it rivaled his D.C. power,and after this Tesla and Edison became rivals. A few months later Edison told Tesla that if he could improve all the D.C. power stations in New York in three months he would give Tesla 5,000 dollars.
