Scientific method refers to a group of steps that investigates events, that helps gain new knowledge. Scientist use scientific method all around the world. It made an impact on human history. The method created new discoveries and inventions that changed the whole world for the better. Examples of new discoveries and inventions are medicine, technology and lastly the printing press. Medicine opened methods of protecting and curing human lives. Medicine made “Clearer understanding of how disease worked led in the late nineteenth century to vaccinations for smallpox, typhoid, and other viral diseases. Increased food production, improved medicine and sanitation” (Document 24). Life expectancy from 1800 to now changed tremendously due to medicine Since the 1800s people have a better understanding of hygiene and transmission of bacteria. Something that was common back then was disease, and that impacted life expectancy. According to Document 21, “Scientists improved on existing technologies and invented new technologies, such as the telescope.” Every new invention is step towards the progress of mankind. A technology that helped mankind is medical technology. Such as X-ray technology, ECG machines, digital blood pressure testing, and many more. X-ray technology provides a new technique of diagnosis. X- rays can be used to monitor or diagnose bone fractures, cancer, abdominal pain, and artery blockages. ECG machines detect abnormal heart heart rhythms, and also a heart attack. It investigates the cause of chest pairs. Digital blood pressure testing checks to see if your blood pressure is too high or low. When your pressure is too high your at risk for a heart attack or stroke. When your blood pressure is too low it can cause shock, and make you lightheaded and dizzy and have blurred
