Question #1: Which page/article seems most reliable? Explain why. The most overall reliable article, out of the three is “School Uniforms Page 1”. “School Uniforms 1” isn’t immensely biased, it provides the reader with studies/evidence, and the website the article is is a university in Houston. Furthermore, the article provides the reader with evidence/studies multiple times like for example “UH economics professor Scott Imberman and graduate student Elizabetta Gentile surveyed administrative data from 160 public schools in a large urban school district”. The article is also on a University website which means that most of the time they use facts more than just slapping their opinion on anything. (they’re also neither activist an …show more content…

Furthermore, the website from “School Uniforms Page 2”, French Toast, just states only the benefits of school uniforms (like how it said “School uniforms boost school spirit!”, and that “School uniforms make mornings easier!”) and doesn’t back it up with much if any evidence. The website French Toast also is a business that profits from people buying their uniforms, and that means French Toast won’t bash their product in any way because what business would want to lose money, right? One of the things that French toast states are that “French Toast® Official School Wear™ is less expensive than other types of clothing” which they don’t ever provide any studies or facts that are approved by scientist to backup that their uniforms are less than other clothes. Additionally, they’re self-promoting by just only putting their company’s school wear which their uniforms are $150 each year (this shows that this article is biased and unreliable). Overall “School Uniforms Page 2” is biased because they don’t say anything negative (due to them not wanting to lose money), and they also don’t provide us with studies or evidence that uniforms do have the benefits that they
