In the short story By Any Other Name by Santha Rama Rau, it converse about how the author and her sisters are from india and move and tries to blend in with the british culture. The first way that Santha Rama Rau develops Santha’s perspective of success is when she was at school on the playground with her friends . she says “ I ran about for what seemed like hours without ever catching anyone , until it was time for school to close” ( Santha Rama Rau pg. 37) This explains that Santha’s perspective is that being gallant is better than success by showing that she lets the other children win although she wins while with her mother.
